Four hours of toil at the LGS.
Came home and prepared to start pulling and checking some of the ammo I'm tasked with disposing of.
Pulled a decent sample from a container with a 'few' boxes of ammo. All looked great. All primers went bang, . . . , energetically.

I decided they didn't need any cleaning, or tumbling.
This batch is all Speer GD 9mm.
Filled an ammo can, and am waiting for springs and magazines for the Trailer Park Trash. (PT92)
I doubt they will arrive before a Friday range trip, so I sorted out some .45acp to shoot.

I know I'm going to end up pulling a bunch of this stuff. I need to order a collet pulling die.
Recommendations? Hornady, RCBS, . . . other.

I had some extra time and energy, so I dug out a gift from @Splatz. A BP revolver. I finally got it apart. It was glued together with old grease turned to a hard polymer substance .
The chambers were all clear, and only one nipple put up a struggle against my pro nipple wrench. Not much of a struggle. It popped free. I love it when nipples pop out with ease.
Ran a brush down the sewer pipe bore. The first half of it has that typical black powder lunar cratering. The last couple inches look good, so it'll probably shoot just fine.
I ran six #11 caps thru it quicker than hollywood. Last cap hung it up. It might be better with #10 caps.
Still missing a couple of screws, but it may be time to consider casting a few balls for it.
I'll get this smoke pole tossing lead again.

I have used an RCBS bullet puller for years, never a problem EXCEPT with cast bullets. Lead bullets are slick, the lead acts as a lube, they slip right out of the collet without budging from the case. I use an RCBS inertia puller for lead bullets.

Thank You Mr. York. RCBS it is then. I'm off to Larry's E-Store.

Have the roofer guy coming back tomorrow. Something is making a squeaking noise when the afternoon winds start up. Can't figure out what it is? Best guess is something on one of the two skylights. Darn annoying hearing it at night.

Time to get ready to run a couple errands.

Cast is all I load for handgun and I also use the RCBS inertia puller.
Years ago I read on a cast bullet site of using apposing force making them come apart much easier. If you never tried it you'll find it works a lot better.
A wood mallet in one hand and the puller in the other, held at arms length with arms dropped in front. Raise both arms to about 10 0clock and swing to 6. Light crimps usually pop in two swings. Heavy crimps four.

Years ago when I was doing wood turning I made myself a mallet just for the purpose.( Big target, easy to hit) ;) Any wood mallet will do.

I have a couple of inertia pullers. One that , IIRC, Rhody sent me when I first started loading. Try hitting a large block of lead instead of wood. Works more better.

I'm looking at pulling, possibly, more than a thousand expensive hollow points. Don't enjoy playing wack a mole that much.

Items are on their way.

Spaghetti meat sauce is on the stove. Pasta water not yet boiling.
