Well that didn’t take long! I hadn’t planned on messing with the trigger so soon on the new 457, but the mood hit me this morning. I already had new springs of varying lengths, so that made it easier. The trigger pin wasn’t cooperating, so I had to drill one end a little to remove the peen. It came out super easy then. I already had a Scar’s trigger pin because I didn’t want to reuse the factory pin anyway. The new spring will allow me to adjust it from 1-2 lbs safely. I set it to 1-1/2 lbs. If it wasn’t for the pain I’m still dealing with, I would head to the range today. I couldn’t handle the leaning into the rifle for long, so I will wait. The weather is going to be perfect. Sunshine and mid 70’s today. Thinking that I will do some photography.

We left the bedroom door open last night. Spencer stayed curled up beside me with his head on my left shoulder for most of the night. When I made a bathroom trip around 2:30, he started waking up. He would hop down to go chase Phoebe around in the living room, come back to give me a kiss, then hop down again. Around 4:00 Sabrina went to the kitchen and gave them their moist cat food. She shut the bedroom door when she came back so we could rest a little longer. They usually get real playful after eating in the morning.

Well, I need to find something for breakfast. Y’all have a wonderful day!!!

60° @ 8 A, gonna be another lovely day. High may see 80. Nose is less stuffy, and the rotten air warning has been removed; the nose knows this stuff w/o seeing what the weather weasels are saying. Glad to be here. Hope all have a good donut Friday. Time for me to get the cricks out of my old joints, get another cup ' joe, and get to doin' stuff. I has a list to tend to, yano.

Up and have been up for way too long, since about 1:00 a.m.

About 6:30 I left to return cans and bottles, then make groceries. Bottle return machine didn't like the Stewart's Root Beer bottles and would not accept them. Had to take them to the service desk that wasn't open until 8:00. Haven't made groceries for quite awhile, but needed milk, as I've been out for more than a week. Was surprised that it came to $150, as I really didn't get much. I know prices are going up, but I was still surprised how much higher some stuff had increased. Bought more store branded items than I usually do. Noticed, that many of the sale item prices are now only good if you but two or more. Wasn't all groceries as I picked up a couple of Carhartt K-87 pocket tee shirts. They were marked $16.99, while others of the same shirt were marked anywhere from $19.99 to $29.99. Realized after I checked out that they rang up at $19.99. As it was near 8:00 I went to the service desk, got the price corrected and a refund for the over charged shirts plus the $5.00 maximum penalty for the overcharge. Got the bottles returned as well.

The Midwest regional big box store has been pretty well stocked recently, but noticed more sparsely stocked shelves, freezer space, and refrigerated space in certain area's than what there has been. Was going to get some fixings for apple pie, but no Golden Delicious apples, and no refrigerated pie crust. Few offerings in their freash donut section, with nothing appealing to me. Also looked for a 2023 calendar, but only 2022, and 22-23 school year calendars, and plenty of them overstocked it appears.

Got frustrated by a guy moving swiftly down the aisle paying no attention to anything but his phone. I could see it coming, so stopped and waited for the game of bumper carts. He looked up just a moment before his cart hit mine. Couldn't help but comment that I hoped he paid better attention to diving a car, the driving a shopping cart. I think he mumbled "sorry". I'm becoming an intolerable cranky ole geezer as I season.

Once in awhile I like breakfast from MD, so thought I would hit them up after I got home and groceries put away. 8 cars in a slow line, so skipped that, and headed to the real bakery downtown. Too late I guess, no French Crullers, no real custard Long John's, no Cheese Danish. Settled for a simple chocolate doughnut, but at $1.75 for one doughnut, probably won't be going back soon.

Happen to see an old friend get out of her car as I drove past her house on my way home. Stopped and chatted a bit. She retired too early a couple years ago, and is now working two jobs.

Please keep the sprinkles off the floor. Someone has to clean up the mess.

Love this one.

During lunch at work, I ate 3 plates of beans (which I know I shouldn't). When I got home, my husband seemed excited to see me and exclaimed delightedly, "Darling I have a surprise for dinner tonight." He then blindfolded me and led me to my chair at the dinner table. I took a seat and just as he was about to remove my blindfold, the telephone rang. He made me promise not to touch the blindfold until he returned and went to answer the call.
The beans I had consumed were still affecting me and the pressure was becoming unbearable, so while my husband was out of the room I seized the opportunity, shifted my weight to one leg and let one go.
It was not only loud, but it smelled like a fertilizer truck running over a skunk in front of a garbage dump! I took my napkin from my lap and fanned the air around me vigorously. Then, shifting to the other leg, I ripped off three more. The stink was worse than cooked cabbage. Keeping my ears carefully tuned to the conversation in the other room, I went on releasing atomic bombs like this for another few minutes. The pleasure was indescribable!
Eventually the telephone farewells signaled the end of my freedom, so I quickly fanned the air a few more times with my napkin, placed it on my lap and folded my hands back on it feeling very relieved and pleased with myself.
My face must have been the picture of innocence when my husband returned, apologizing for taking so long.
He asked me if I had peeked through the blindfold, and I assured him I had not.
At this point, he removed the blindfold, and twelve dinner guests seated around the table, with their hands to their noses, chorused, "Happy Birthday!"

Brigadier and I had fun until it become too warm anyways. 69° is just not satisfactory when wearing the long pants and a wool shirt.
Grabbed the wrong cased shotgun by accident and should have been paying attention to weight and length, oh well. The extra pound and a half of an 870 Sportsman 20ga vs the Breda 20 auto is noticeable after a couple mile hike. Will have to unscrew the choke as it’s likely a modified or full which I can’t remember. Imagine it’s too tight for the three birds Brigadier locked up on within five yards of me. First went up through the thick and managed one shot off then second moments later and forgot to rack it, duh.managed a shot off as she ducked for cover through thick leaves.
She disappeared with the shot going off and leafy matter falling to the ground. Praised Briggy and followed after the second bird for another flush or looking for feathers. Brig pointed her again fifty yards from where I shot. He found her anyways and flew away just fine without me getting another shot off.

Wandered some off the end of trail till the heat got to us and headed back. On walking trails Brig always hunts the bush to the right. Don’t know if he’s figured it out that I’m 100% deaf on left side but it works for me as we can hit the unhunted ground on the way back. Smart pup as long as he pushes them to the left as my vision is poor through right eye.
About s half way back to truck he locked up on another just a few yards off the trail. I pulled up as she was bombing through the thick and said naah, save the lead. Praise instead for the six month old pup.
He will be a great one if he keeps up this pace. Nothing slows him down as he crashes through thd thickest brush and hunts close always knowing where I’m at. Stamina like no other dog I’ve ever hunted with and never once have to holler at him or bring along the shock collar. Not all Trial bred dogs have to be run after. He’s from a long line of champions and mother just received her Champion points, qualified to run with the big dogs. I knew Brigadier would be something special our first walk around the farm at seven weeks and pointing birds in the tall grass.
I done wore him out and his belly is full, tomorrow’s another day!

Chinese Buffet Day may be my down fall. We stopped at the industrial supplier, I picked up a $200 set of high tech drill bits, then stop by the machine shop supply store, walked out with $800 worth of carbide end mills. Went to the LGS, bought 1500 rounds of mini-mags. Swung by the Harbor Freight store, bought a “damaged“ gun safe, at an incredibly low dirt cheap price. I did have a good buffet, I got beef, noodles, onions and peppers, with scads of brown sauce, chicken wings, dumplings, Wonton soup, General Tso chicken and boneless spare ribs, all topped off with a bowl of vanilla/chocolate twist ice cream.

I talked to the step-son, they have started the final paperwork, in regards to the closure of the wife’s estate. It looks like the end is in sight.

Wonder what load Wook would recommend for defense against these things?
I think I would go with this ammo.

When ya have spotters like them shown, it's time for... 'Mama! Get the Real Kill! '

Just taking a quick break from a super day; will have to come back later and read whot's been wrote.

Also took a coupla minutes to order four paperbacks of individual Dostoevsky werks that I've had it in mind to go thru on a more thorough reading and that I can scribble in or make notations, when the mood strikes me. I'd read a number of his werks years ago... almost far enough back to have been in a dif. lifetime. Don't retain a single copy of anything he wrote that I could find; probably, whot I had was passed on not long after I'd finished reading it. Should fill some idle time and any cranial spaces where the original data isn't retrievable any longer well enough, come winter.

Wot?

HVAC compressor on the five ton unit all replaced under warrantee and running like the proverbial Carrier champ.

Ducked out last night for coffee with neighbor who has been constantly challenged with random wandering people camping out at night at their professional services office building. Yup they poop, leave a mess, steal water and electricity, etc. Neighbors have a surveillance camera system and they baddies were once again bedding down for the evening. Quick call to the PD got those folks rounded up and escorted off of the premises while still in their jammies.

I have a couple of rifles/carbines equipped with military peeper sights and thought I knew how to properly zero them but after watching a Forgotten Weapons video I now know better so that will be on my list of things to do on future range trips. 🤔

Signed up for a six stage USPSA Level I match out of town on Sunday. Not necessarily a three hour tour but will be car pooling to make the ninety minute one way drive more enjoyable.
