WELCOME TO THE WATERING HOLE

A stress-free place to gather and share whatever is on your mind! A fun place of mutual respect where you can hang your hat, vent, relax and shoot the bull for a while!

Happy Easter to all who celebrate that faith.

To all others, Happy Spring!

Easter symbolizes a new beginning, so it is fitting that TWH has a new beginning as well!
Along with RFC, TWH has been remodeled!

Actually, it can be anything you imagine it to be!

I am happy to announce that due to the increased bandwidth of the new RFC, there is no longer a need for the weekly closing and re-opening of TWH!!! After 10+ years of weekly "flipping" we now get to keep the doors open continuously! My sincere thanks to our moderators, especially Sophia, for making this possible!

I would also like to thank all the members who have kept this boat afloat for so long! We have become like family here, and now have a permanent residence! (y) While we have many long-time members who have been enjoying the company found in this amazing virtual bar, we also welcome all new folks. Jump right in! The first drink is always on the house and Veterans always have an open bar!
Al The Infidel (Tubby Slayer extraordinaire) is the bar manager.

So, let's get this re-opening celebration going! Set 'em up, Al! Drinks all around!!!

New meds are helping with the pains, but make me feel a bit loopy. Hopefully that will fade once I get used to them.

I checked on the baby blues a short while ago. All 5 are doing fine. They are 14 days old today. Typically they fledge at 16-17 days old. That’s what we’ve seen since we started putting out nest boxes.

Getting ready to head out to do a stress test. Just the thought of driving through traffic, hunting down parking, then being told to expect to be there for most of today, is enough to give anyone stress.

The little guy will be starting daycare 3 days a week after next week. That means we get him two days a week. Going to miss being with him everyday but it's his parent's call.

Gun show tomorrow. Haven't been to one in a few years. Not having any high expectations of selection and/or any great deals, but it will be nice to be around like-minded folks for even a little bit.
Where to start?

Great lookin' triad of huggable
young wimmins, Lon. Doubt you'll have any trouble trafficking the last one. Their markings R remarkable. I'd say something about yer nail polish, excepting my dim bulb received a voltage spike... and now I've gone and embarrassed myself for ever harboring that thot.
Had to go back and look as I hadn’t noticed. Definitely needs a new paint job as there a bit tattered from pup wrangling and dishwasher duty.
Got to sleep in till 8:30 this morning with no son delivery to work. Pups let out and a run to the eye doctor for wife’s first pair of glasses exam. Must be nice waiting until 53 as I’ve been reliant upon them since forty and could have used them for many years before. Will see how long they last her until a dog eats them🥹

Son texted wanting to go for a bike ride and shooting fun. I look up from my phone and a Subaru drives by with a skeleton wearing a wig drives by strapped to the roof. Thinking I may need an eye exam my son said nope that’s the skeleton car. Maybe an empty leash was on the bumper too, missed that!
In... 44 degrees, slightly raining.

Think I'll go back to bed for a while.

Someone has a great sense of humor.

A rainy morning here in Wyoming. Lovely Bride and I are off to Walmart for the usual stuff. It's a 55 mile round trip, I figure it costs us about 12 bucks in fuel to get over there and back so now we make a list and only go every couple of weeks or so.
Anybody heard from Sophia, or am I missing something? Beginning to get worried.

Couldn't read the blackboard from the back of the class in 4th grade and teachers moved me to the front until this 4-eyes got glasses.

She's been around but is in silent mode, something I wish the Finn would do occasionally. 😇 Hi Sophia.

Iron Mt VA central operator wouldn't pick up after 30 rings. Seriously? Half the time the different ops sound drugged like they dragged a patient from the sike ward or sumpin. Used to be the 5th floor when I was there up and running around in a wheelchair. If ya go full tilt and drag your hand on the wall at a corner you can make a 90º turn like an open wheel race car. Va-rooom! They threatened to take my chair away after complaints from the janitors who had to clean the chair's skid marks off the tile floors when another guy, missing one leg from a mine, and I would drag race on the hallways at nite.

No donuts this morning, but there are sprinkles. Sugar sprinkles on homemade butter cream cheese frosting on chocolate fudge cake. Backup reserve of sprinkles for other baking adventures. I'll leave the cake at the end of the bar, help yourselves. Who has clean up duty tonight?

Cake looks great Wolfe.
I always feel a little loopy Brent!
Wook, I had primer problems with the 9000 Mec, so I took the feeder off and just stuck one in the station by hand. I would hit my rhythm. Insert primer, hull wad, pull, repeat. The auto rotate piston quit too so I just took it off and made a Grabber out of it. Primer, hull, wad, pull, rotate, primer, hull, wad, pull, rotate, and it was almost as quick as with the auto primer feed and auto rotate working. Never got to see a Ponsness Warren loader in operation, just Mecs.

Running Be to her doctor appointment in a little bit. Between my appointments, Belinda's and Mom's it takes a lot of trips each month for all these doc visits. Aside from the expense I don't mind, I enjoy driving. Been quite pleased with the Elantra so far.
I wish that I could afford to have the Lazik surgery done to my right eye, then I would only need reading glasses. Too expensive for po foks.
LRS today is a party of five and wind conditions that will build character in yah. Started on the 1000 yard target and stacked two shots on it thus being rewarded with some impact flasher action. Switched over to the.223 Wylde and all off the tank trap barricade. Worked my way up and finished on the 1000 yard steel silhouette w/flasher. Main task shooting off of the tank trap was to practice using my front hand working the front bag onto the barricade. So was only using the one bag which can be a real time saver when shooting against the clock. My OG Game Changing bag is too big for that so have a Smedium bag on its way as it’s replacement. Should also reduce the total amount of weight being packed by one pound. 👍 Heading over to the pistol range afterwards to help build our two gun stages for this Saturday’s five stage two gun event.

And while we were shooting long range, the front office called and said a SO officer was coming over the hill to shoot some of his toys with us, so the range went cold. Turns out he wanted to shoot his grenade launcher to generate DOPE as they get no info as to the different tear gas cartouches they hurl at the bad guys/gals. Was fun to watch him shoot his modern day bloop thingie and afterwards he offered us the opportunity to shoot it too to which I gladly accepted (Shot it at an eighty yard target and nailed it). After that he looked at commented on all of our PRS rifles we were shooting. So I offered him the opportunity to shoot mine (6.5CM and .223 Wylde) and got him on target all the way out to 1000 yards. But wait there’s more! He then offered us the opportunity to shoot his duty rifle being a short barreled suppresed full auto AR rifle, to which I gladly accepted. Our targets are from 600 to 1000 yards, and that rifle only had a red dot sight zeroed at twenty-five yards. So I first shoot it semiautomatic at the 600 yards target, and first shot almost hit it if it weren’t for the ten mph cross wind. Made windage corrections and plunked numerous times, Then flicked the magic switch and shot a bunch of two/three shot burst, and managed to hit the 600 yard target on “full auto”. So happily was able to cross a couple of items off of my bucket list this morning. He had three more rifles, so he shot and I spotted for him again getting him onto target beyond 600 yards with a couple of iron sight AR’s and 55 grain bullets. 😀

Thanks Phil.

59°A, going to 64. Partly sunny, partly cloudy. Back yard still very damp and soggy, but will get mowed today regardless as more significant rain coming tomorrow. We got a few unforecasted snot flakes Wednesday night and a few very light sprinkles of no significance yesterday.

Still acquiring parts for the old '53 Schwinn Panther frame. So far I've gotten a period correct springer fork with headset, crank, and chain guard. Also picked up a stem that turned out not to be correct, but a close replacement stem. Also some new after market handlebars that are close to original in shape and size. Crank will get a chain ring for 1/2 x 1/8 inch chain rather than a skip tooth chain and chain ring. Bottom bracket parts and bearings and the BB frame cups will probably be newer Schwinn.

Still need handle bar grips, seat, seat post, seat post clamp, chain, and wheels. Probably a few other miscellaneous parts I haven't thought of. Oh, I need to find a Schwinn head badge.

Not trying to restore to original, but am trying to use many original Schwinn period correct parts. Will post pics when I receive more parts and start working on it.

Anybody heard from Sophia, or am I missing something? Beginning to get worried.
Busy hauling bedraggled broken password stragglers back on board I imagine JN.

This has to have been a nutty month for her and the rest of the admin team!

That 'House of Blues' looks to be getting a little crowded, Brent. Easy to see why they might take up playing 'king of the hill' shortly. Glad to hear the new meds are providing some relief for you! (y)

I seem to recall the Evil Administration Lady mentioning taking an annual sabbatical to visit her mom that isn't. Dunno if that's where she is but it's possible. OTOH, it could B that we are behaving well enough.

It is 'National Hairball Awareness Day', today. Always the last Friday in April. It was founded by a Veterinarian in KS who may or may not have had a lick of hair himself. I didn't research that part of it, feeling that it wasn't germane.

Reminded me that my cat went on a hairball pukeathon overnight. Why couldn't he just have upchucked the offending hairball in one place instead of spreading it out in three places? must have bee celebrating NHAD toy detriment!
