Took the Ruger/Kidd/CPC rifle apart, check all screws and fitment. Action is glass bedded in the stock as I thought and took some effort to separate as expected. Nothing found, called Kidd and explained what I had and how I came to have it, nice lady said pack up the barreled action and send it us and we'll fix it, what is it they say...Kidd, nuff'n betta'. Right now I'm inclined to agree.

Sad goodbyes said to my primary care physician who is retiring Friday. Told him that it would be weird coming to “his” office and seeing a different doctor. We talked a bit and shook hands a few times. Something many won’t do since Covid. New meds prescribed to hopefully help me deal with pain better. Now to figure out what’s for lunch.

Twenty rounds of meticulously loaded 303 Brit rounds loaded for the 1905 Ross Rifle. Lyman 314299 cast 206gr W/ gas check with 35 year old Red Dot boosted up to a whopping 11 and 12gr this time with no pressure present at starting load of 10gr. Guess I have to pay the big shipping fee for IMR 4227 if there’s any left as it’s a more versatile powder for ‘06 and 303 cast. Load data is severely lacking for cast with the newer powders. Found a pdf of a Lyman #2 cast loading manual as well as the #3, rumor has it the #4 is out. They update every thirty years give or take #1 was downloaded but those powders are long gone now.

To the range on this sunny day after I eat lunch and let pups out.

Good news, hearing your black sheep 10/22 is going in for some group therapy. Lets hope it takes. 🧐

Hope ya get a break soon and some sunshine too!

Have gathered another two bags of yard trash & weeds this morning and done a lot of general cleaning, again. I can almost breath again but some sinus constriction(s) remain. Gonna say that the air is cleaner but there is plenty of yeller pollen on darn near everything. Was going to Czech the latest NOAA/NWS numbers but their site is down just now. Must B the weasel lunch hour.

I feel for you Alum, as that is a similar forecast as to what spring here has been. The experts are saying that due to the lack of sun, some may be experiencing SAD, Seasonal Affective Disorder. “It is thought that the exposure to light is part of what might be affecting what is called our circadian rhythms.”
We have had far lower than average sunshine here this spring with lower than average temps and higher than average precipitation.
Good news is that the sun is trying to show its joy today.

34°A this morning, with a high of 38 foreguessed. May hit 50 tomorrow. Back yard is drying out some, but still too wet to mow.

I live an exciting life. I need to express my inner squirrel.

Same line likely hit us as the better half and I were finishing up a grocery store run, always fun. Rained hard for a little while but not enough to wash away the pollen, just made a mess with it puddling up everywhere.

Have three folks in supposed need, one a fellow with roof problems wanting the Church to help him out, got info on someone who may be able to help but he doesn't have time for me to come by with it (double amputee who never gets out).

Another Gent doing food services for the needy who doesn't have time to meet me at the Church to pick up more than a dozen frozen whole chickens and several cases of canned goods which are surplus to us, he's canceled appointments three times now.

A woman emailed me (no idea where she got my personal email) wanting food as her Food Stamps have been cut, told her we can do an emergency distribution and then set her up for our regular distribution, she's set and then canceled picking up the food twice now.

Sometimes you just wonder why....

When you can't give away the necessities of life to "needy" people, maybe they aren't so needy after all. Something wrong with the system here.

We got the right guy for donut Friday, yup. 👁
What kind of sick puppy plans a college graduation ceremony on the Trout opener? Will be the first one I’ve missed in 58 years for D1’s graduation Saturday. Could always fish our way up and back down I suppose. Is waders appropriate attire for such an occasion?
Guess I have time to catch some later.

I’ve run out of Brook Trout in the freeza!
Congrats to you and D1 Lon. 👍
Gosh, Alum, whot's to say?
I get Alum's hand me down weather and now know what it was like for my baby bro, sorta.

Got my tetanus vax this am and shall be good till the heart quits beating. Shot the wind with the doc's nurse for 10-15min as she seemed to need a bit of venting. Dad downstate died not that long ago and she and her 2 siblings are going thru the farm getting it ready for sale. Dad was a hoarder down to rusty nuts n bolts as is her elder sister. 2X a month round trip of 13hrs each for the lets pack it, sell it, give it away rendezvous 3.5hrs below thee Bridge.

Sunny 32º on the button, depending on which Chinese parish the thermometers came from.

Lon you made me think of this joke.
Two guys were out fishing on the lake when a hearse and funeral procession passed the boat on a nearby road. One of them stood up and held his fishing hat over his heart as the hearse passed. His buddy commented, "Gee, Harry, that was really nice and respectful!" To which Harry replied, "Well, after all we were married 40 years."

Just stay out of Al’s yard, we like having you around here.

Gregg
Lots of inner Wolfs running around the yard now... 3 at once even. Methinks Wolf has lots of personalities. Even saw one @ approx 200yds scamper across the road on the way to the carwash a minute ago.

Thought of the mayor this am when I heard on the news CrispyCremes came out with some new donuts.

Most observant of you.

Took a long walk. 2.5 miles.

Found a DeWalt 20v impact in the middle of the road on the way home from the park.

More 1911ish parts are arriving. Put a 20lb recoil spring in the RIA . It was about two and a half inches longer than the OEM spring.

I'll change the mainspring when I take it completely apart. Test it. Take it apart again to bring to the painter.

Oversized safety has arrived as well, along with some other goodies. More yet to come.
