Not my Birthday Al and AZ.

I haven't czeched on the fishing around here. I remembered when they first planted the Coho back in the 60's to control the alewives. Nobody knew how to fish for them. Somebody discovered a crawler on a hook about 6 feet below a bobber cast out from the pier 10-20 werked well. This time of year on a nice Saturday morning, the pier would be lined shoulder to shoulder. The problem was, when some hooked one, the Coho would zip along the pier tangling a dozen or more lines. The fishing could be great, but you often spent more time untangling and rerigging lines than fishing.

Freeze warnings tonight. At least it is dry with no rain scheduled until Saturday. Back yard is drying some, but still too wet and mushy to mow.
Weasels say that March and April have been some of the cloudiest on record. Been a lot colder and wetter than average, but not sure how that fits into the records.

We had a fast n furious storm line pass thru this afternoon...left behind .25" in my rain catcher...

Sent from my motorola one 5G UW ace using Tapatalk
Same line likely hit us as the better half and I were finishing up a grocery store run, always fun. Rained hard for a little while but not enough to wash away the pollen, just made a mess with it puddling up everywhere.

Have three folks in supposed need, one a fellow with roof problems wanting the Church to help him out, got info on someone who may be able to help but he doesn't have time for me to come by with it (double amputee who never gets out).

Another Gent doing food services for the needy who doesn't have time to meet me at the Church to pick up more than a dozen frozen whole chickens and several cases of canned goods which are surplus to us, he's canceled appointments three times now.

A woman emailed me (no idea where she got my personal email) wanting food as her Food Stamps have been cut, told her we can do an emergency distribution and then set her up for our regular distribution, she's set and then canceled picking up the food twice now.

Sometimes you just wonder why....

A full growed wabbit was sitting in the newly fallen snow in the front yard before daylight, seemingly looking at the couple of deer tracks in the newly fallen snow @ 27ºF. I think it was trying to find some grass shoots instead of dingleberry's spilled bird seed next door.

Mornin',

Just enough rain drops to make the pollen look worse - didn't wash a bit of off the vehicles. 52 this AM, sunny, windy and high of 59 as cool dry air continues to move in.

Sight part did not make it to the mailbox as expected. There is a regional distribution center here in town, about a mile from the post office and it arrived there very early yesterday AM. Couldn't travel that mile in time yesterday, guess its legs got tired.

Wife continues to shop and beat down the salespeople for the best deal on new beds. Only thing I like about her being a cheapskate. We have decided this will be our anniversary present to each other. Now I don't have to hit up the jewelry store!

Have a good day.

57°, RH 69%, wind E 7 under partly cloudy skies. Will warm to near 80 this afternoon. More chores this morning, but it's play day for the afternoon and sporty clays league blastinating late. Sinuses are better this AM, so that's a big plus. Can't really tell about the eyes yet but they don't feel as irritated this morning. Drinking the last cup of yesterday's dregs while waiting for the new pot of coffee to make and plotting my day's schedule. Bride was w/me much/most of the day yesterday and i wuz mother hen'd a good bit more that I needed or required. Hopping that particular need was satiated, at least for a while. Gracious!

Or izzit, "Good Greif(!), Charle Brown!" Wimmin. Most appreciative that she wasn't in horse mode.

Where is pans? Anyone spoken w/him lately? I need to give him a shout and see how he is rolling. Just added that to my list. Coffee is ready. Think I'll get a cup. Y'all have a great day!

What kind of sick puppy plans a college graduation ceremony on the Trout opener? Will be the first one I’ve missed in 58 years for D1’s graduation Saturday. Could always fish our way up and back down I suppose. Is waders appropriate attire for such an occasion?
Guess I have time to catch some later.

I’ve run out of Brook Trout in the freeza!

41 degrees, cloudy but no rain... yet! :)

Those look nice, Don!
Is it Friday already!!
I'll have to get me some of those...

Been looking at pretty places for a photo-shoot. (Close-in places)
So far 2 waterfalls and a lighthouse. Several marinas around here also.
Couple of good (non-rainy) days, I'll be on the hunt (y)

Getting there is half the fun...

…Edit, can’t just throw stuff out there on a whim.

And here I thought the best thing to come from the Czechs was the BRNO model 1 22lr! With a little help from the Germans to boot. While the article is interesting I’m just happy to find it wasn’t funded by a grant from the NSF.

In other news, it warms the cockles of the heart to see so many willing to give Gerald a hand with the 10/22. BRAVO!

The roofers are here and they are getting to it. Loud, very loud. Going to be like that all day.

Daughter is going to pick up the grandson after she is finished with work then take him around the corner to a daycare place, which is directly behind our house. The people that run it took what we call a "Junior 5" (2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, living room, and dining room) and converted it into daycare. The Junior 5 houses are 1000 square feet upstairs, 1000 square downstairs. These folks created a living space downstairs - kitchen, bathroom, bedroom. Upstairs is fully dedicated to daycare. They did a really good job on their yard by terracing it then using one level for having some smaller scale playground equipment. It's funny because prior to them buying the house the previous owner let the yard grow wild. In the 25 years whoever it was who owned it only had the yard cleared once. I came home from work on day and could see something was significantly different. I could actually see the back on their house. Anyway, hope the daughter can get the little guy in. We'll cut back our days of watching him and then I can get back to retirement.

Friends have a house in the Bay Area whereas they did their back yard in a three tiered terrace ala dlong. Was a really nice way to use all of the backyard area that was 100% on a steep hill plus deal with surface water run off.

Congrats on D1 graduating, Lon. 👍

Busy day with early morning trip to the credit union, then wifey breakfast, plus reloading all of the 6.5CM’s that were expended on Sunday. Two gun event this Saturday and then a three gun event next month. Life is good. 👍
