WELCOME TO THE WATERING HOLE

A stress-free place to gather and share whatever is on your mind! A fun place of mutual respect where you can hang your hat, vent, relax and shoot the bull for a while!

Happy Easter to all who celebrate that faith.

To all others, Happy Spring!

Easter symbolizes a new beginning, so it is fitting that TWH has a new beginning as well!
Along with RFC, TWH has been remodeled!

Actually, it can be anything you imagine it to be!

I am happy to announce that due to the increased bandwidth of the new RFC, there is no longer a need for the weekly closing and re-opening of TWH!!! After 10+ years of weekly "flipping" we now get to keep the doors open continuously! My sincere thanks to our moderators, especially Sophia, for making this possible!

I would also like to thank all the members who have kept this boat afloat for so long! We have become like family here, and now have a permanent residence! (y) While we have many long-time members who have been enjoying the company found in this amazing virtual bar, we also welcome all new folks. Jump right in! The first drink is always on the house and Veterans always have an open bar!
Al The Infidel (Tubby Slayer extraordinaire) is the bar manager.

So, let's get this re-opening celebration going! Set 'em up, Al! Drinks all around!!!

I'm open to suggestions.

How about I come visit and we take some of your other guns to the range and do some shooting. Meal afterwards is on me. 😉

Come on Brent, biggest problem usually is deciding what gets to go that day. :)

Just send the barrel around Gerald, we can test it for you! I have an AMT that would look nice on.
Thursday I start back at the LGS. I'm just going to do paperwork.
Wanna bet? :)

We can pass it around to everyone for testing and even more thorough testing. semi-auto rapid-fire icon :)

Too much airborne snow flying for the 50yd green monster for the past few hours.

I'm gambling the ceramic guy is right that an adhesive accelerator should/will allow bumper stickers to stick to the tailgate but, the back side windows will not be coated justin case. Wouldn't be the same though IME.
Snowing. I want to put my three season tires on.

Gerald, I'd like to help you but I barely get time to shoot my stuff. I would pull a bullet and push it down the barrel, feeling for loose spots near the muzzle and czech the crown.

Had an enjoyable morning at the park with the wee lad (grandson). He's getting at that age where there are more fun days. Tomorrow he has a visit to a daycare place directly behind out house.

Getting the rimfire itch again. Looking more and more at the Walther P22. Out this way we are very limited in what we can purchase due to the powers that be.

If the runt of the litter is falling way behind the pack and has had a trip to CPC, I would think it's bad fitment with the stock.

I've always had good results with aluminum tape bedding in a sloppy receiver fit. If you can fit a feeler gauge of any thickness down between the stock and receiver, tape bedding should help.
Vincent has a tutorial on it in SuperStock stickys . Bedding With Aluminum Tape | Rimfire Central Firearm Forum

Dr Gunner has a good write up on support pad testing somewhere. Shoot him a PM and he'll link you to it.

I have used aluminum tape and support pads in my 1022s and CZ with good results.

Aluminum tape also works well for shimming scopes too.

Range was very productive beginning with helping to build one the five stages for this Saturday’s two gun event we’re hosting. Got in lots of socializing plus staying ahead as to the flavor our pistol clubs event offerings to come. Also got in much enjoyable trigger time with the CZ 452 American LH, moi 9mm PCC, a couple of 9mm’s, and some short range time with the .223 Wylde. Decided that moi choice of two gun thingies for Saturday’s five stage two gun event will be the personalized Mini-14 MBR, and the much modified Beretta 92 FS, just because. 😀

Fun benefit about attending in this case PRS events is that many folks will share their accessories. However that can result in a purchase of something you tried and liked, so I bought a Armageddon Gear Smedium support bag. :)

And the lawn got mowed-did today…..battery powered lawn mower is working out very well with it being sans an electrical extension cord. 👍

So I ordered a .380 acp Lee Factory Crimp Die, just to see if it makes a difference.
Not my first Rodeo with a 10/22 folks, I've taped, moved pads etc. in the past. Have a couple of rifles in the games. We'll see what we find. 😉

“The .380 ACP (9×17mm) (Automatic Colt Pistol) is a rimless, straight-walled pistol cartridge developed by firearms designer John Moses Browning.” So unless that bullet being reloaded has a “cannular ring” I’d use just a tiny crimp so as to not change the head spacing. We’ve had new shooters to our events use a heavy crimp in their 9mm pew-pews resulting in bunches of FTF’s.

Gerald,
I can make it the best shooting 10/22 you own at no cost to you.

Just send me all your other 10/22's and I will pay shipping.

I'm thinking that all I'd really like just now is some pan fish dredged in seasoned corn meal and cooked in a black iron skillet w/some lard. Need to B catchin' somma dem thangs as we don't have any left in the freezers' vac packs. :( That's a darn shame.

Bride is fixin' some whacked/deboned yard bird thighs to B served w/some sort of flavored risotto or 'roni', as yet unrevealed. Got three items scratched off my list today, and it's been a loverly day... if ya discount the pollen. Activating the wipers w/o any washer fluid saw yeller dust swept off the windshield, quite a lot ofvit, as a matter o' fact. Just whot it is/was. RH got down to a nose bleed 33% this afternoon and temps topped out at 74°. Rt. eye stayed 'fuzzy' in its focus & teared some as well. Wasn't shootin', so it dent really matter. Wanna B doin' some RF paper punching in the worst way but the winds have said otherwise. No choice but to roll with it and stick to the clay target stuff... for the time being. Consummated whot should prove to B a deal on enough components to see me to my end, God willing to allow me such license and have some shootin' buds who shall also benefit from this latest windfall, so it's playing extra Kool... in that respect. 🙂 💥 Happy is where ya make it.

I B tryin'.
