The IT guys got away with doing that in commercial buildings for years. They even had little dart guns to shoot string to pull cables with. Some times trying to lift a suspended ceiling panel had so many cables on top it was heavy. We electricians had to support all our wires. Finally the powers that be changed the electrical code to make the IT guys support and bundle their cables. This was only because the fire departments had trouble fighting fires with all the IT cables in their way.
Shortly after this I had an IT guy ask me if he could use my hangers to run his cables. I told him not very politely what he could do with his cables.

Another way of getting wiring from here to there especially in a attic or underneath a house is to use a kid rated power crossbow with a string attached to the end of the bolt. “Loose” the bolt and then use the aforementioned string to pull the wiring into position.

I’ve done my share of jerking cable all over this old house. You have to know where the chases are. BX , Romex, CAT6, RG59, 18/2, you name it. I’ve used the mouse method. Tie a pull string on the mouses tail and put some cheese on the other end. Those little guys can fit through any crack and crevice.

I have mixed feelings about IT folks. Some are the most wonderful people on this plant, and a few are just the opposite. Got dragged into too much drama at one agency by an IT staff because the source of his existence was heavily dependent upon my Department funds. We were supposed to change all of our commercially available applications that were also the de facto standards in our line of work over to this one IT section that would replace everything we had with their handwritten applications. Too many roadblocks as they didn’t understand to the process and protocol as to how we did things along with they wanting to revert back to a main frame mentality versus the currently available open architecture. Was fortunate that my Department provided me with their support to say NO! to this attempt to do financial and technical harm to us. During my investigation spoke to another agency that pursued this route and their response was nothing short of it was one of the worse decisions they ever made when it came to software applications all written by in-house IT staff. In all fairness spoke with a bunch who do primarily research ie Lawrence Livermore Lab and they said custom written applications was ok because there was nothing commercially available to enable them in their line of work. So there you go. 😀

Just had 2 of these huge syringe delivered from Amazon to suck the oil out of small engines. Great idea. I’ll use for the snow blower in the fall. Can probably suck some brake fluid out of the reservoir to get some of the old fluid out and mix with new. Do it about 4 times and most of the fluid will be new.

A cool sunny Easter morning,here ,in the Valley.Notice several of the neighbors planting stuff in their gardens. Guessers calling for a frost warning tonight,I believe we,ll wait a week. Taters & peas planted last week havent come up yet.

Thanks for the heads up. I like the idea of clear so I can see what’s coming out and how much. It was $8 for two so if they don’t last it’s not a big deal. If I’m sucking out some kind of fluid once a year, it’s a lot.

Kolbalt is Lowes private brand, right? I almost bought a battery mower but I got my gas one going. Battery mower is in my future, maybe Greenworks. Not cheap, about 5 bills.

I’m very happy with my 40v Ryobi. Only use it for mowing the ditch so get 2 cuts per battery, and there are 2. Thought about the Greenwerks but the Ryobi got consistent high rating and was about 2 bills less.
