WELCOME TO THE WATERING HOLE

A stress-free place to gather and share whatever is on your mind! A fun place of mutual respect where you can hang your hat, vent, relax and shoot the bull for a while!

Happy Easter to all who celebrate that faith.

To all others, Happy Spring!

Easter symbolizes a new beginning, so it is fitting that TWH has a new beginning as well!
Along with RFC, TWH has been remodeled!

Actually, it can be anything you imagine it to be!

I am happy to announce that due to the increased bandwidth of the new RFC, there is no longer a need for the weekly closing and re-opening of TWH!!! After 10+ years of weekly "flipping" we now get to keep the doors open continuously! My sincere thanks to our moderators, especially Sophia, for making this possible!

I would also like to thank all the members who have kept this boat afloat for so long! We have become like family here, and now have a permanent residence! (y) While we have many long-time members who have been enjoying the company found in this amazing virtual bar, we also welcome all new folks. Jump right in! The first drink is always on the house and Veterans always have an open bar!
Al The Infidel (Tubby Slayer extraordinaire) is the bar manager.

So, let's get this re-opening celebration going! Set 'em up, Al! Drinks all around!!!

BW, sounds like you need some of those tight fitting cycling shorts. Less chance of getting caught on the saddle during dismount.
If I wore a pair of those, especially in my current roundish shape, I'd end up in one of those "People of Walmart" photo post.

RE:

Hydration - so important in so many ways
Minerals - Some will say potassium, I'll say try it and magnesium

Plus you and BW can probably meet some women asking them for theirs. Awaiting newchickfrometheproduceaisle story or two!
Some say bananas help. Might make for interesting shopping when meeting the newchickfrometheproduceaisle !!!

Gin works good on chrome. Never tried it on the joints.
Old timer I werked with many years ago got poison ivy really bad on his arms. Nothing seemed to help relieve the itch and aid the healing process. One day at werk, out of frustration, he grabbed a bottle of Lysol concentrate and liberally poured it on his arms and rubbed it in. Said that the itch relief was immediately and further, that his arms healed quickly. Poison Ivy was a hazard of the job, and Lysol became his go to remedy. Not something I think I would try.

You'd need this cycling jersey to go with them, of course....

Another warm day ,here, in the Valley.Yesterdays mowing, dust and pollen have left me with a sore throat and runny eyes & nose. Will stay inside today and rest.
My new shooting glasses arrived in yesterdays mail. Between the new Rx and the lens color things really stand out.Now there is one less excuse for a miss.
Thanks for the link and video Mike, my hand cramp a lot at night especially after working with them including shooting, the cramps can pull them into some pretty grotesque shapes at times and are VERY painful.
I hope it helps.
Leg cramps are fun too. Probably the most pain my wife has consistently seen me in is leg or hand cramps. I didn't laugh off my 1 kidney stone either though.

Leg cramps are at least partly due to my Statin I'm told
None of that stuff is cheap. LPS products, Boeshield and anything else that works costs too. I guess it's cheaper than rusted equipment.
I'm going to suggest considering the removal before spraying anything on first.

I haven't had leg cramps in a while. I hope I'm not jinxing myself.
At least on my hand cramps I can walk to a faucet and let warm water run on them.
I usually have to get up and walk the cramps off.

We use cosmoline grease on the pins and boxes of drilling bits and drill pipe. We keep the spray on hand for smaller stuff, I keep the spray on hand at my house too.
LOL!!! 😄

G'mornin' Al!

The place looks good! Give yourself a raise!

I drink tonic water with QUININE in it for leg and hand cramping Rhody. I drink 80oz of water summer and winter because of all the meds necessary for staying alive and in the summer its not enough for my leisure life style on the dole.
As all my other numbers are good the doc took me off statins to see if it would help with joint pain... nuttin yet.

Healed the mailbox with a flannel long sleeved shirt on and broke my first outdoors sweat of 2022 @ 76ºF. Twernt that warm when I gathered the gear for a remount and replacing some of the plow slush torn letters. I need a Hawaiian shirt broken out of storage dear before it snows again this week. I scare little kids if I wear shorts.

Here's hoping our esteemed Admin from the Edge is enjoying not holding our hands so much anymore.
Off for a tour of the Fumee Nature Reserve on the bikes. Son took the afternoon off work and wants to go for a ride. Nice lazy eleven mile ride around the two lakes. I’m not up to 900’ climbs up the side of a hill quite yet. Descent is incredible and exciting 2mile stretch of brutal single track but it’s the getting there.
Rhody did you know? Wings long time zamboni driver got fired for peeing in the ice drain when one of his crew snitched him out. Now he's suing because of his prostate problem. :p Ya can't make this stuff up. Raining again. Need a life preserver for the back yard, perhaps a life boat. In over 35 years, this is the worse spring wet yard ever. Just never gets a chance to dry up a bit. Ground is so saturated, that 10 points of rain results in standing water for a day. More than that and there is standing water for days. I don't think we've gone more that 2 and a half, maybe three days max since spring thaw.

68 yrs old. Wonder who the lawyer is, Saul Goodman?
Uncovered the through the wall AC units. They are all 20 year old Friedrich’s. Every year fingers crossed they blow cool air. Went to the store I bought them all at and they checked my file. Friedrich makes new models that fit in the same opening. Only they are double the cost now. My 19,000 btu unit for the downstairs was $899 in 2002. The new 20,000 btu Kuhl unit is $1600. New sleeve but fits in the same cut out. Pretty cool though as the Kuhl models can be controlled via WiFi through my phone.
I should probably go mini split with 2 zones. One for down stairs and another in the bedroom which is right above making install easy.
