WELCOME TO THE WATERING HOLE

A stress-free place to gather and share whatever is on your mind! A fun place of mutual respect where you can hang your hat, vent, relax and shoot the bull for a while!

Happy Easter to all who celebrate that faith.

To all others, Happy Spring!

Easter symbolizes a new beginning, so it is fitting that TWH has a new beginning as well!
Along with RFC, TWH has been remodeled!

Actually, it can be anything you imagine it to be!

I am happy to announce that due to the increased bandwidth of the new RFC, there is no longer a need for the weekly closing and re-opening of TWH!!! After 10+ years of weekly "flipping" we now get to keep the doors open continuously! My sincere thanks to our moderators, especially Sophia, for making this possible!

I would also like to thank all the members who have kept this boat afloat for so long! We have become like family here, and now have a permanent residence! (y) While we have many long-time members who have been enjoying the company found in this amazing virtual bar, we also welcome all new folks. Jump right in! The first drink is always on the house and Veterans always have an open bar!
Al The Infidel (Tubby Slayer extraordinaire) is the bar manager.

So, let's get this re-opening celebration going! Set 'em up, Al! Drinks all around!!!

That’s PINK!!
Wow, speechless............

I think thats called "Cerise Pink", at least thats what her indoors calles it.
I was sitting in my car this morning, waiting for the diner to open, and I met my first skeeter of the season. :(

Shot at the club, member was called in to fix the automatic gate so we had to shoot the bull instead of the bullseyes.

I didn't get a fill off my buds compressor before we left. I've pumped my Avenger to 4000 again and I'm a bit tuckered.

Nice day out, took a few trips out to the garage to play with things, sure enjoying not wearing a coat.

Brownell's thinks I want spam daily. Nerp.
Wife says I've got chauffeuring duties to catch up on which means waiting on the slowest woman in the world to get ready she started an hour and half ago and I'm still waiting. Guess a trip on my own out to the range is not going to work out, wanting to try out the Kidd triggers I installed and finally shot the Ruger/Kidd hybrid that got CPC'd. Oh well.
The price I pay for going hunting Wed/Thur.
While we're planning and having the good time, we often overlook the hidden cost.

As wook would say, The cost of doing biddness. :D

I hope Rhody is up to the responsibility that comes with the freedom of no Sunday morning flips.

Without the flip we won't have a clue of when a search party is needed. :D

.
FedEx delivered my camera (y) (y) around 1PM (instead of 4-5 PM like usual)...
I've got some learnin' to do.

Just got back from a close-in park (with another camera), pleasant place, worth having a look.

I will be deep inside the owner's manual on the new camera for a couple days till I get it figured out.
It's still a Nikon though (like my others). It shouldn't be all that hard...

:F
Great looking pups Lon! (y)

I will enter the bar each week saying "Happy flipless day"! How's that? Maybe toss in a pic and a thought for the week!

Sounds like a great idea, so I know what day of the week it is.
That should werk fine, Rhody. Don't see a problem at all with yer leaving a weekly marker; I always like the pause for the cause and your fine way to make the coming week relevant.

That good lookin' gal should be easy to spot in the field, Lon. I like yer approach to placement as well. (y)🙂

I blew off going to the club this afternoon and instead have spent the entire day in the yard, mowing and edging and generally werkin' my butt off. Both were in need. Had to take more breaks than I would have liked but just don't have the capacity to go at it non-stop any longer after this last round of crud that I'm holding the CCP and some others responsible for. Could be related to getting vaccinated and boosted too but I've honestly no way to tell... and for us, it was the correct decision. We R both still here. Several of my elderly friends R not... and it was the Wuhan virus that killed them. Got two more large contractor's bags of weeds
extricated from lawn and beds as well. Those that remain, I've christened 'grass' now that they have been given a 'flat-top'. 😉 Hey, the landscapers who 'no comprende engrish' that the neighbors hire duit too. Appearances matter, yano(!), so I got in step. Bride is thrilled as it makes all her flowers stand out w/o some 'weed' or 'stick-up' distracting the viewer's eye. Can't B any more honest than that. Me culpa. 😏

Just finished a very nice 19 oz NY strip that the bride & I split. 'Twas from a much earlier purchase... when they were affordable w/o needing to take out a loan. Had some 99¢ a pound fresh yeller summer squarsh and a can o' English peas for the sides. I never mastered the Britt's ability to eat peas w/a knife. Mom slapped me for trying, so I quit. Much later, I realized they has 'special knives for that. Clever, those Victorians. Used to B a lot of
one-upmanship across the channel. Expect there still is... in 2 many ways to count...

c'est la vie!

I like frog legs, but only the ones that come from ponds. They invented nylon, yano(?)! Well, at least DuPont was French. Best stop, it's getting too hairy, for an old goat.

The yard looks nice.

among other things, yano.

Falling wayyyy behind on t.w.h. as usual.
I built this today, on my brother's suggestion. It's a shovel to get the dirt from the bottom of a hole dug for a utility pole.
