WELCOME TO THE WATERING HOLE

A stress-free place to gather and share whatever is on your mind! A fun place of mutual respect where you can hang your hat, vent, relax and shoot the bull for a while!

Happy Easter to all who celebrate that faith.

To all others, Happy Spring!

Easter symbolizes a new beginning, so it is fitting that TWH has a new beginning as well!
Along with RFC, TWH has been remodeled!

Actually, it can be anything you imagine it to be!

I am happy to announce that due to the increased bandwidth of the new RFC, there is no longer a need for the weekly closing and re-opening of TWH!!! After 10+ years of weekly "flipping" we now get to keep the doors open continuously! My sincere thanks to our moderators, especially Sophia, for making this possible!

I would also like to thank all the members who have kept this boat afloat for so long! We have become like family here, and now have a permanent residence! (y) While we have many long-time members who have been enjoying the company found in this amazing virtual bar, we also welcome all new folks. Jump right in! The first drink is always on the house and Veterans always have an open bar!
Al The Infidel (Tubby Slayer extraordinaire) is the bar manager.

So, let's get this re-opening celebration going! Set 'em up, Al! Drinks all around!!!

Hope he gets the cure and goes to engineering school.
The writer, or the local PD commenting, need to have a better understanding of tools. They state it has a drill bit for a firing pin, when in fact it is a torx bit or an allen bit. Hard to tell. :D
Well, "Old What's His Name" did say to use a shotgun, so this should get a pass.
Put that bad boy on Gun Broker and with today's buying frenzy make an easy 300 clams. That's some Mad Max engineering there!

There's a desk in there?
There is...

Well, OK - it's two filing cabinets with a 6' kitchen counter slab on them, but it qualifies. :D
I know a guy that does vehicle cockpit leatherwork Flys if you're interested. 😋

Got the parts to put on the VN vet plate on the nose end of the new *bucket of bolts. Ram had 4 holes in the bumper and thats it. Its a bit of a finagle to reach on the backside of the bumper with 2 air dams in the way. NAPA gave me a hand and we ended up with rubber grommets with brass threaded inserts whereas the rubber expands as the bolt is screwed tight most similar to some wall anchors.

In other news hockey great named Guy LaFleur aka The Flower died today at the age of 70.

*bucket of bolts: what my dad's dingleberry GF called one of his new trucks.
I thought it was a novel use of Devcon, or whatever the goop is holding some of the contraption together. He does need a bit of breech work experience though.

Nice break in the weather with the sun coming out and the hummingbird having some breakfast from the feeder. Screening hedge outside of the kitchen windows needed some trimming so out came the ladder and battery powered hedge trimmer and did so. 😀

Looks like it began it’s existence as a Winchester 67a. 🤔

Makes me wonder what the light is for? My guess is you’d have as much chance in the dark with your eyes shut unless the muzzle was pressed against the target.

Could be a Roberson (square) bit also. Very hard to tell, but for certain ‘it’s not a drill bit.

And a gate to keep you in?

Officially, the gate is to keep out the dog, so she doesn't jog my elbow when I'm trying to finesse a hull shape (her favorite method of getting attention is jogging elbows)

Unofficially, it is to keep me in, of course. Most of the time it is unlatched with a self-closer that the dog knows how to use both ways. But if I'm deep in 3D stuff, it gets clicked shut. :geek:

Raining again @ 52°A. Weasels say it will be dry, 78°A and partly sunny tomorrow. Then more rain on Sunday as we start a slide back into the 40s again next week.

I live an exciting life.

I left the 45 program before they started difference training on the 75, so I never used the Garmin system.
Been using the ProLine 21 for the last 10 years.
It's 8* higher than the 60 they guessed and may hit 70*. Supposed to climb close to 80* for the weekend and into Monday. Then the bottom drops out for the rest of next week with highs lucky to hit 50.

Looks similar to the Wifes office Sails, but you have room to turn around in yours.

Topped of the tank in the skid steer with 2/5-gallon cans of liquid gold. They get heavier every year.

That does look difficult to fuel up.

My cat loves to foul up the computer by reaching over or up and tapping on the keyboard at the most inopportune times.

Siphon starter?

6'H cedar privacy fence posts are only 2'D and the NE corner of the yard useta be swamp hence now a $$ leaning 8-9yr old fence towards the neighbor's garden. One could see the lean looking at the fence flat on 33yds away from the window. 5yrs ago? we dug out one side of the offending posts, pulled it straight and pounded metal fence posts down, screwed em to a couple of the cedar posts posts and filled in the gaps on the other sides of the posts with sand and pounded it in. As the water table is only 3'D in the spring on that corner of the 33ydx33yd yard the effort alas proved in vain.

2 weeks ago I hooked together a couple straps, including a cinch strap, to an eye bolt/screw on the post and tuther end around the biggest trunk of my 3 trunked apple tree and cinched it tight until I could hear the fence begin to protest while hoping wind action of the tree slightly swaying and the spring thaw would slowly work its magic. Today I cranked it guitar string tight while pulling the fence top 1.5" closer to 90º and the tree is showing no signs of splitting. 👍 Lawn cutter will have to duck the strap for a 1/2doz passes.

Tubby feeder fence is worser and the nearest apple trees much smaller and off on an angle. That fence can't fall all the way with pine trees 2-3' away on the other side to stop it. I'll fertilize the apple trees to make em grow bigger faster. 🤓🤓🤓🤓

Don't look at the DOW Dlong.
