WELCOME TO THE WATERING HOLE

A stress-free place to gather and share whatever is on your mind! A fun place of mutual respect where you can hang your hat, vent, relax and shoot the bull for a while!

Happy Easter to all who celebrate that faith.

To all others, Happy Spring!

Easter symbolizes a new beginning, so it is fitting that TWH has a new beginning as well!
Along with RFC, TWH has been remodeled!

Actually, it can be anything you imagine it to be!

I am happy to announce that due to the increased bandwidth of the new RFC, there is no longer a need for the weekly closing and re-opening of TWH!!! After 10+ years of weekly "flipping" we now get to keep the doors open continuously! My sincere thanks to our moderators, especially Sophia, for making this possible!

I would also like to thank all the members who have kept this boat afloat for so long! We have become like family here, and now have a permanent residence! (y) While we have many long-time members who have been enjoying the company found in this amazing virtual bar, we also welcome all new folks. Jump right in! The first drink is always on the house and Veterans always have an open bar!
Al The Infidel (Tubby Slayer extraordinaire) is the bar manager.

So, let's get this re-opening celebration going! Set 'em up, Al! Drinks all around!!!

I did not win anything at the raffle .They did have a free meal included with the ticket price, but I did not eat.Didnt win on any of the other chances I took.Met my shooting buddy there, found out that we were bidding on some of the same items at a recent on-line auction.I dropped out early ,he won it.
Son ended his marriage today. Reason is a long & convoluted story.

I think things are straightened up enough for the wife to get home. She will have to water her plants herself this week.I don,t think any died under my care,,,,,,on does look a little rough.

Took the wife to PT.Then went shopping.at Lowes, got a 20V ,10" Craftsman chain saw.Had a rewards card so no money out of pocket. Spare battery costs almost as much as whole saw/battery/charger combined. Will give it a go soon.

It started raining last night and has continued all day.Nothing heavy just a drizzle.
Exhaust work on the Jeep went quick, with no drama.Picked up a couple of pulled pork sandwiches on the way home.Enough meat on one for 2 or 3 normal meals and cheaper than a Big Mac.I did not even eat 1/2 of mine.
Time to start supper.

Clear skies but no dancing lights yet. Will take an occasional peak outside from nod until bedtime.
Many life long Yoopers reported last nights Aurora as being the strongest ever seen. We at least at their young age.

The Mec 600jr with the added features are worthy of the upgrade once the auto primer feed is fine tune adjusted it spits out shells faster and to perfection. He handed me a spare wad finger of the new type and my old Mecs predate these and no longer made in the red type. The new type require a replacement part to fit to and guess I may as well hung a couple down.
Loaded a box of Fiocchi 1oz 1375fps with Windjammer Lightning wads to fine tune the new to me machine. Well worth the $25 and free delivery nearby. View attachment 377925

8/10 of an inch of rain yesterday and 4/10 so far this morning.Water either blew in on to the front porch or the gutter stopped up again.I,ll check when it stops raining.Dont see any overflow at a drizzle.
Lots of bird calls when outside this morning,a pair of Geese did a honking fly-by,Crows & Blue Jays also very vocal.
I guess it is Spring.

Todays range event had only 2 of us...the usual.I took the Berger,22 and the 700 .222 .130 rds thru the Berger and 15 thru the 222.It was beeezy at times but a nice warm afternoon.
New load for the 222 did not impress. And I was not comfortable shooting today, for whatever reason. It may have been an internal problem?
Hopefully I,m done chipping wood for the Wifes mushroom garden. While taking a break from chipping, had the first tick of the year crawling on me.Now I feel them everywhere.
Removed the chipper and put on the tater plow.It goes deeper than the tiller,so it loosens the ground.better.Will smooth things out when the dirt dries out a little more.
Will still have to transport the chips home from the woods and fill the container/bed. I dont even like mushrooms.....

Slept late.Lost electric power sometime last night,All clocks blinking and this comp is/was slow to start up.
It is however a nice sunny 55* and no wind.Chickens fed and released, tapering off on the wild bird feed.Heard the Wild Turkeys calling ,last evening ,over on the mountain.
Took the wife to her PT this afternoon, them made a quick dash to get the little Jeep inspected. It passed but had to replace a bulb in the 3rd brake light...I cant see it.

Lon, is your MAS factory tapped for a scope ? Local auction house has one for bid. I would need a scope to use it.

Its a cloudy, damp nasty day outside. It is to rain later and then the winds will pick up.Guessed to hit 40mph or > by tomorrow, but at least the temp will be in the 70s. Temp is only in the 40s now in the afternoon.
Sunday will be my first trap shoot of the season,Temps in low 60s and a light wind guessed for.

Its a warmish(60*) this rainy morning in the Valley. High winds guessed for today havent shown up yet, Last evening and night ,we had the wind, but today was guessed to be worse.
Hope everyone in the mid-west. is OK. Jeeping friends in Tenn and Ind. have checked in safe, some without power ,though.Alot of others, not so lucky.
This mornings gloomy weather has gone. Bright sunny short sleeve T-shirt weather out side now. Wind is a little brisk at times, but not damaging.
Fruit trees are blooming,Peach, pear and Cherry. Some kind of little bees are giving them blooms a work out.
Retrieved a load of chips for the wife,s mushroom garden.Even filled the bucket on the tractor, still another wagon load left.I could have stopped chipping after the first time.

Todays trap shoot was average.Weather played a big part,at times it was calm, bright and sunny,at other times it was the oppisite. Then the wheels came off on the last handicap trap.Back was hurting and I was tiring out.
Welcom back BW.
