WELCOME TO THE WATERING HOLE

A stress-free place to gather and share whatever is on your mind! A fun place of mutual respect where you can hang your hat, vent, relax and shoot the bull for a while!

Happy Easter to all who celebrate that faith.

To all others, Happy Spring!

Easter symbolizes a new beginning, so it is fitting that TWH has a new beginning as well!
Along with RFC, TWH has been remodeled!

Actually, it can be anything you imagine it to be!

I am happy to announce that due to the increased bandwidth of the new RFC, there is no longer a need for the weekly closing and re-opening of TWH!!! After 10+ years of weekly "flipping" we now get to keep the doors open continuously! My sincere thanks to our moderators, especially Sophia, for making this possible!

I would also like to thank all the members who have kept this boat afloat for so long! We have become like family here, and now have a permanent residence! (y) While we have many long-time members who have been enjoying the company found in this amazing virtual bar, we also welcome all new folks. Jump right in! The first drink is always on the house and Veterans always have an open bar!
Al The Infidel (Tubby Slayer extraordinaire) is the bar manager.

So, let's get this re-opening celebration going! Set 'em up, Al! Drinks all around!!!

I even tried copying the bb code from another forum and pasting it here. Nada. Perhaps the local tech can program in an exemption for donuts.

<snips>
I think we need to bribe said local tech - maybe with donuts? :D
Donuts might not work. Maybe a kegger?
Hope you got your taxes done Sophia.

The ones in the middle were the best.

I've got everything switched over. Primed and loaded a hundred 230gr LRN Coated goodness.
I'm thinking of modifying one of them to better suit the style of shooting out Fresno way.
None of them are sacred. Hmmmm. . . .
and there is a USPSA division for that. 😀
58 sunny degrees A this afternoon with a mild west wind presently. Had about 42 points of rain overnight, so back yard still a swamp, with still more rain foreguessed for overnight and tomorrow. Turned off the heat and opened all the windows for some freash air in the house.

Took advantage, of the nicer for a change, weather to get a couple of things done outside. Bought some wiper blades yesterday yo put on the Battle Baru and discovered they are the wrong size. I thought the book said 20 and 22 inch, but discovered I need 18 and 24 inch. Also discovered I had a brand new pair of the correct size stashed away, so installed those. Filled up the washer reservoir with summer mix fluid. Although there is a possibility of getting below freezing again, the summer fluid mixed with the remaining winter fluid should be good. The blades I bought yesterday were from a hardware store that is going out of business, and they aren't accepting returns. The 22 inch blade will fit my seldom used truck, so I'll save it for that., but it takes two 22 inch blades. What to do?

Took the loose flag pole mount off the porch post. One of the 2.5 inch No. 10 stainless screws head has broken off. Not enough stub protruding to grasp with vise grips to turn it out. Still deciding what to try to get the broken screw out. The other 3 screws were intact, but the heads are wobbled out and bent. The cast aluminum mount I have allows the base of the pole to protrude through the back of the mount to rest against the pot. The pole has dug about a 1/4" divot in the porch post. Both the mount and the pole are worn from wind action turning the pole in the holder over the years. The aluminum mount and pole wearing away has also left a stain on the post, which probably should be painted before I reinstall the pole mount with some heavier screws. Maybe I'll get a different mount.

Got stuff staged to change the oil and service the mower. Need to pick up the blades tomorrow from the mower shop and fill the gas can. Put about an ounce of STAR BRITE Star Tron Enzyme Fuel Treatment in the can to help keep it fresh over the summer. Will fill the 2.5 gal gas can and car with 89 octane later tonight. $10.00 to fill the 2.5 gal mower can is disenchanting.

I live an exiting life.

Failed at playing with BBCODE.

Sorry about your friend GreggyBoy.
Thanks Al. Much appreciated.
Undergoing some grieving today. One of my former coworkers sent out a text to a couple of us former coworkers. The text stated that another former coworker was shot and killed last night. I am in shock. After I retired we stayed in touch with him and we remained friends. I just finished sponsoring him at the gun club I belong to. We had gotten together several times in the past few weeks as I brought him around to introduce him to some of the other members. The text I received today said that he had a been in some sort of altercation with a neighbor who shot him multiple times. Unfortunately all of this happened when his wife was out. He was with 7 year old son, who ended up calling 911. Not a lot of other details but I feel badly hearing this upsetting news and especially for his wife and son.
Sorry to hear about your friend, that is horrible.
I can't remember who asked, Al maybe? Buckmark pistols come with one magazine.

I will agree that most folks will eat what there body needs. Have been one to at least try most everything on the table but if it doesn’t sit well, won’t eat it again, and been pretty polite about that too.
My wife’s family tends to be pretty bossy and it came to the point at the dinner table we had a serious discussion regarding their constantly telling me what and what not to eat even though they cooked it and it was on the table. Asked them and mother in law if they were a degreed and license dietitian. Then said I understand their concerns but I’m an adult etc, got up from the table and just about left the house and property and for my wife to find her own ride home. 🤔
BIL added salt to his pizza before his heart attack.
Finn keeps telling me to take more but doesn't care for it when I tell her to. 😇

#FF00FF for magenta text color tis all I know about hoodwinking electronics on RFC so far.

Almost sucked my ear drum out vacuuming my head with the 1gal shopvac after my haircut today. None of the last 4 different cutters have a vac for customer cleanup.

Corner of the tailgate, tonneau cover, and side rails have a gap the car wash will blast thru to the contents of the box hence now own a roll of self adhesive sealer gasket type material to fill it in, just like previous pickup setups.

Death On the Nile... 2022
What the heck did I do?

Newer mower with Honda engine manual says 86 octane or higher. No greater than 10% ethanol or 5% methanol. When the marinas are open, I'll get marine gas there. Only place in the greater area to get Rec 90 gas is a 30 mile round trip.

I do run Rec 90 in the German chainsaw, weed trimmer and leaf blower.

About a third of an inch so far with a little bit more tonight. PRS course of fire stage instructions arrived today so started to transcribe optics dial ups etc on stage cards worn on a wrist coach. Close to forty people pre-registered so far for this coming Sunday’s PRS event.
