Small bear?
That's a wet river otter and the other pic is an Anna's hummingbird, most common here in the PNW.

I must have been within 25 feet from the otter, I got off 10-12 shots before he went back in the creek.
Even closer for the hummer...

Some days you get lucky..

Undergoing some grieving today. One of my former coworkers sent out a text to a couple of us former coworkers. The text stated that another former coworker was shot and killed last night. I am in shock. After I retired we stayed in touch with him and we remained friends. I just finished sponsoring him at the gun club I belong to. We had gotten together several times in the past few weeks as I brought him around to introduce him to some of the other members. The text I received today said that he had a been in some sort of altercation with a neighbor who shot him multiple times. Unfortunately all of this happened when his wife was out. He was with 7 year old son, who ended up calling 911. Not a lot of other details but I feel badly hearing this upsetting news and especially for his wife and son.

Sorry to hear that Greg.

Spoken like a true Ford guy.
Not sure why you keep going with the Rams. You just have to replace them every 2 to 3 years. 🫣

Saw the cardiologists today. Yes that is plural. EKG was good and BP in high range, typical when I see the doctor. BP meds adjusted to take out hyrdachlorothiacide (sp) since my Na (sodium for you non chemists) is consistently lower than normal. Oncologist told me to salt EVERYTHING. Heavily. Reminds me of a story:

When I was but a wee laddie, I think I was 3 or 4, I would eat salt straight out of the shaker. Not just a little, mind, like the little bit you put on the back of the hand for a shot tequila and lime. NO, we’re talking little fists full. And not occasionally either, we’re talking a couple of times, or more a day, every day.

Well, Mom didn’t think this was a such good thing for her precious little boy to be doing. So she diligently hid all the salt in the house and wouldn’t let me have any, except what I put on my food for meals.

This went on for a week or so, and this wee lad started getting lethargic and showing signs of some strange illness. So Mom being mom, she took me to my pediatrician. He check me out and then asked mom if anything had changed in my eating and drinking. She told him nothing had changed except she wouldn’t let me eat salt the way I want to. Well, the doc gave Mom a stern lecture on how little people eat what their bodies need and that SHE WAS TO LET ROCKY HAVE ALL THE SALT HE WANTS.

Guess I have had a sodium deficiency all my life, though I no longer salt ham when we have it.

Sorry about your friend Greg and for all concerned, especially the little guy traumatized by it all.

Sounded like a dig Rock. 😛

Appmnts made for consult with another podiatrist, VA doc, and ceramic coating shop.

Ran Mz Daisy to her buddy's place outside town to drop off gifts, then ACE, and then showed her where ceramic shop is so she can pick me up after the drop. Roads are sloppy after the rain and a crew is filling in potholes with black icky stuff so the new buggy remains parked in the garage with no showoff rides around town for a week yet. sniff

I will agree that most folks will eat what there body needs. Have been one to at least try most everything on the table but if it doesn’t sit well, won’t eat it again, and been pretty polite about that too.

My wife’s family tends to be pretty bossy and it came to the point at the dinner table we had a serious discussion regarding their constantly telling me what and what not to eat even though they cooked it and it was on the table. Asked them and mother in law if they were a degreed and license dietitian. Then said I understand their concerns but I’m an adult etc, got up from the table and just about left the house and property and for my wife to find her own ride home. 🤔

TEST - prolly fail again.....

Yup - reverts every time, no matter when you tweak the code.
I even tried copying the bb code from another forum and pasting it here. Nada. Perhaps the local tech can program in an exemption for donuts.

Since I'm officially dead in the water on the 9mm Kurtz reloading project, (Bullet profile conflict with chamber of carry gun), I decided to start on fodder for the 1911s.

I've got everything switched over. Primed and loaded a hundred 230gr LRN Coated goodness.
I'm thinking of modifying one of them to better suit the style of shooting out Fresno way.
None of them are sacred. Hmmmm. . . .
