Well this is the big news story around here. Its getting a lot of press in some MI locations. Saw a news van from a major MI news outlet back out of a drive down the block from my place that where one of the individuals in the story formally lived. Might still have relatives at that location. Wouldn't be surprised if this story gets national mention or coverage at some point.

The sporty clays shooting yesterday afternoon was crazy fun. Temp peaked at 88°, southerly winds were officially measured at 22 w/gusts to 38. Purdy sure we had several that were north of 40 and they were very switchy and blowing every which way where our courses are set. Started out by getting a 1 on the first station! First target was a thin rabbit going straight away w/a tiny bit of tilt to the left running like a scalded cat. Trap was right by the station, not six feet away but gosh, that thing was hauling and for me it didn't jump at all. I absolutely clobbered that thing, tearing up the ground all around it every shot, but never broke it. Those kinds of 'edge on' targets can be brutal to yer ego. Second target was a screaming rt to left coming out of the brush, staying low and diving mini about 40 yards out where it emerged and perhaps 50 when you could get a shot at it. I did break that one, once. For the leagues we shoot the 'A' bird first, using two shots when needed, then a report pair and lastly a true pair. Target settings were tough. Add the winds and they became incredibly tough. I got my ___ handed to me a number of times, hitting only 32/50 for 64%. Wasn't anything remotely easy about any of the targets. I shot low gun w/either 7/8 or 1oz reloads of new hard #7.5's loaded to 1200fps. Had a MOD in the open/bottom bbl. and an IMOD in the tighter/upper one. Loads & chokes were fine when the gun was pointed correctly. Doin' that was very difficult but it was a lot of fun trying. Two of our guys shot 38's. I told them that was a fine score... and it was. We've a number of excellent shots that are members of the club and shooting in this league. Yesterday's targets and conditions beat the vast majority of them... and when the dust had settled, scores were tallied, and the math was done we were in 1st place by 4 points! Woot! Hot dittley dog! Don't know that it will last but it might. Winning it gets us all our bait back. We are a third of the way there. Will have to see how it plays out on down the road. Geezer thrills. 🥴

Nice looking ride, AL! (y) Izzit too early to tell if the ride quality is a better one for ya? I'd hope that proves the case, in any case. Bells & whistle's aside, it's the ride. No?

Was informed that another of my shooting acquaintances of many years had passed when I got to the club yesterday. Longtime member, perhaps 30 years. He'd had a successful heart transplant a year or two back. It was the only way he could stick around. He enjoyed a number of fine guns thru the years, was passionate about them but they came and went. His bride was and is constant. He tried best he could to keep shooting as long as he could and did but comes a time when yer time's up. And no amount of money or procedure(s) will alter that. Just how it werks. He was having a hard go ofvit the last time I saw him. Coupla months back? Pray he is less stressed now and all the targets he is presented break. How to say anything? Honestly.

Mornin',

47 and calm, clouds, getting more cloudy, temps reaching the low 60's. Slight chance of a shower.

Nice truck @Al the Infidel. Shame it is a Ram.... ;)

Permanent crown install today after work. Done with the dentist for a while after that. (y)

Might take tomorrow off just because I can. Need to get some things done with good weather around for a few days and no rain.

Have a great day.

After a four or five month wait to see an audiologist and ENT Dr the day has finally come. Had several bouts of ear infections throughout the last year. .....
..... son and I rode three sections of MTB trail. Way too much ice cream and lack of excercise this long winter. I had buzzards circling close after one particularly difficult climbing section. Little sore but shoulders and back pain much improved after a good jostling.
Good luck with the ear situation LON.

Good on ya for getting restarted on the exercise. Glad them buzzards stayed away!!!;)

Good clay shootin' report Wook! Sorry about your shooting aquantence.
Here at work for another day of toil. Will be alling all the job sites in about 5 minutes to see what they need for the day.

Have a good one everybody!!!👍

I think I once again failed my left hearing test. Same audiologist different hospital system. I followed him but they have no access to previous tests as the hospital that dropped the ball losing my ENT upon retirement is not giving out that info. Healthcare at its finest.
They have to give it to you, just request your records.

Dang thing has 20" wheels and no getting round it Wook. I'm hoping they come out with 18"ers that fit the brand new bolt pattern they just had to change a wee bit for reasons unknown.:mad:
Al the pothole dodger
How's this in black background compared to my usual dark blue inserts n quotes?

Was informed that another of my shooting acquaintances of many years had passed when I got to the club yesterday.
Sorry bout that Wook.
Do you find the most difficult choot em up targets more fun? Any up n down and zigzag movements of the screaming bunnies that sat on ghost peppers?

Shaded drift snow on the lower deck is still 1.5'D @ 35ºF this am even after the rain Last nite.

Good Morning RFC'rs, et al:

Congrats on the new wheels, Al.

I'm still struggling on the old computer while the new computer sits nearby idle, and dead.

Good shooting at sporty clays report, Wook.

I've gotta walk today. Not sure where yet.

Morning, survived the night after an afternoon second booster. Run a fever all night covered with two blankets including the svedish wool. Don’t know how high it was just was shivering all night with no sweats, perhaps my temp dropped instead. Delirious must have got up to pee twenty times. If I had any stones building up they flushed right out.

Rain all night and quite heavy at times at least it didn’t turn to snow. Family of the MTB trail builder stopped yesterday to look at pups and hand over the reserve. Nice family and will be the teenage son’s birthday pup. I like to see them stay close with active families. Brittany’s have endless energy yet are comfortable just sleeping in. Not a one person breed at all yet they may have a favorite everyone gets their attention.

I saw that we had a mutual friend that got one of first litter pups. I asked if he had met Apache, yes, awesome dog! That’s all it took and they wanted one. Apache was less than ten months when his first bird season come around.

That sure is one fancy truck, Al!

Ford had the Lincoln trucks, don’t know if there was a Cadillac other than the Escalade guess that’s top tier for Dodge/Chrysler if there is such a thing anymore.
