Good looking Pups, sure make me miss my Kate...

Nope Rhody, I'm not going anywhere, that was my rant over a couple of folks busting on Wookness over his blue posts, one in particular who seems to be negative about everything anyone else does. No not Al...😁

Good news is the Turkey hunt is on for Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning, plus some Carp removal from one of the two ponds on the Farm. I've not had a chance to hunt with my Nephew ever and stopping by his house with a 8 point buck's head and cape in the back of my truck is what started his desire to hunt. He's the President of a fair sizing Residential Management company which had made my Dad and now me a lot of money so its been hard for us to connect.

Nephew with a Turkey he took opening day at the Farm

His Dad, my BIL, with a little Bass from one of the Ponds

Farm hasn't been hunted nor ponds fished in over 5 years.
Nice bass. I never caught one on a buzz bait. Geez, that pole looks like a surf rod. Very long.

It's fun to watch people ride a Rokon. Not so much fun to ride one yourself. Wait for them to turn the handlebars and hit the gas and watch them go flying off on their head. I knew a guy when I lived in Fairbanks that bought one and went riding out to a cabin with some friends that were on 4-wheelers. They all made it there in a couple hours. It took him four and he was a filthy mess from falling off so many times.
What is the issue? Doesn't counter steering work. I'm trying to understand the dynamics.

I didn't realize it had front wheel drive. Thanks.
Big gearing with sprockets nearly as large as rims. I’ll have to ask him if he’s crashed it yet on the wild trails he designs. Son rode out one of his tree bridges over a ravine. He likely took the Rokon over it today as wasn’t walking that 1000’ climb section with him.

Nice artwork. (y)

I've never had luck with that kind of mount. Eventually wind drag on the flags causes too much movement of the bracket and the fasteners begin wallowing out the holes in the wood. Leverage and all that. Maybe not an issue if there isn't much wind where you live.

Something I've seen work better, though not as attractive, is a two point attachment. The base of the staff on the wall below the fascia and a second supporting bracket on the fascia.
Thanks.

I'll make a custom bracket, I'll try to remember to get a picture.

I'm going to build a flag "pole" like my dad's to mount on my house, I'm thinking here...

I have a bracket similar to the one below mounted on the porch post. Had to take my flag in as the bracket worked loose. The head of one of the mounting screws broke off and the the other two screws appear to have backed out or loosened up a bit from wind action over a few years. I think there is enough of the broken screw to pinch with a vise grip and turn it out. Need to get some beefier headed screws to remount the holder. Might have to get a new mounting bracket, or drill out the holes in the present one for bigger screws. I use stainless screws so as no to have rust stains.

I just got a surprise that I wasn’t expecting! It was really cold and frosty this morning, so I was wondering how the baby bluebirds were doing. If you remember my first picture post, there was one of the five eggs still unhatched. Then yesterday the picture showed four babies and no egg. Today there are five babies.

I guess there was another under the four yesterday.

So I shouldn’t lose sleep dreaming of taking it for a slow speed spin ehh? Slow crashes are the worst as you don’t skid much just thump.
A few summers ago I took my eldest brothers mini bike for a spin with one of his souped up kart engines mounted. Didn’t crash it when the throttle stuck wide open but was about pushing the kill button through the handlebar. Something about having a souped up clone engine putting out around 30hp that just didn’t jive well with 12” tires.

Guy around here likes to build stuff. A few years back he put about a 5HP Briggs and Straton engine on an adult trike bicycle. Then he mounted a small aircraft propeller on the engine. He put a steel wire cage around the prop from an industrial fan for a guard. That thing would move. Not sure how fast it would go, and I doubt he new either. He did say he had to back off the throttle as it got quite sketchy and squirrely before he ran out of throttle.

This guy also built a hemi powered motorcycle. He also built a twin hemi powered car that would be at some of the shows in the area. Some one once asked him how much it cost. He said he had all the receipts, but was afraid to add it all up.

Link to an article on the Twice Blown Delivery, or just google "Twice Blown Delivery" for some videos and other info.
