WELCOME TO THE WATERING HOLE

A stress-free place to gather and share whatever is on your mind! A fun place of mutual respect where you can hang your hat, vent, relax and shoot the bull for a while!

Happy Easter to all who celebrate that faith.

To all others, Happy Spring!

Easter symbolizes a new beginning, so it is fitting that TWH has a new beginning as well!
Along with RFC, TWH has been remodeled!

Actually, it can be anything you imagine it to be!

I am happy to announce that due to the increased bandwidth of the new RFC, there is no longer a need for the weekly closing and re-opening of TWH!!! After 10+ years of weekly "flipping" we now get to keep the doors open continuously! My sincere thanks to our moderators, especially Sophia, for making this possible!

I would also like to thank all the members who have kept this boat afloat for so long! We have become like family here, and now have a permanent residence! (y) While we have many long-time members who have been enjoying the company found in this amazing virtual bar, we also welcome all new folks. Jump right in! The first drink is always on the house and Veterans always have an open bar!
Al The Infidel (Tubby Slayer extraordinaire) is the bar manager.

So, let's get this re-opening celebration going! Set 'em up, Al! Drinks all around!!!

Tomorrow, low 46f, High 82f, Not time yet to open my solar pool heater. Might be a week or two, depending on the weather. It usually takes a few weeks to heat the pool to @ least 78f with the solar heater. Now that I've got the filter/pump system working as intended. I can hardly wait until I plunge in for the first time. My old bones & muscles need some Hydro-Therapy. Do some laps, Let Ole SOL bake my soul. Sorry in advance to you folks still getting crappy weather.

This is the end of Winter, The Beginning of Spring. Summers are as brutal here as winters are for y'all.
But I guess, that's just the difference between The Arizona Desert and The Northern half of the USA. If I lived in the North, I doubt I'd even be able to walk.

I hear you man. I either have to use a cane to walk, or use a walker with wheels. I hate it either way. But it is what it is. But in the cold weather, I can hardly move. At least in warmer weather I can at least get out & about. I suppose I'm intolerable to either extreme Cold Or Hot. At least when It's over 110f I can get into the pool, and Say Ahhhh. instead of when It's 29f and saying Ohhhh S^&%t.

When My solar heater get to pool water temp; to @ least 78f, when the ambient temps are over 90f, for the first week of the hot season. It'll take your breath away, in a positive manner. By the time my solar pool heater gets the pool water to 82f, I shut off the solar heater. For the rest of the summer season, the water will get to warm. But at least then, I can swim until mid-October. No shrivel. Just don't even think of pee'ing in my pool. I'll send you to the neighbors pool, they're Canabal's. :devilish: :devilish:

Guten nacht Herr Frank.

I am feeling like 36 grit sandpaper tonight. If there's a nerve there, it hurts. Damned CIDP might not kill me but it sure is sucky.

Be wants me to drive her to dialysis come the morn'. Guess she feels sucky also.
Miss Serenity is sleeping upon me tonight. She is very warm. I don't mind cats sleeping on me except when she slips she will reach out and catch my right shoulder to avoid falling off, leaving it looking as if I fell into the briar patch.

I don’t get what they are advertising! Prime has the young lady with the Mustache and some fragrance commercial has a girl with a thick unibrow. Is this the next big thing that will replace Botox?

Sent out "end of season" snow plow bills today, I hadn't billed for for the last two months. Been slow this year, again, oh well. I enjoy plowing, and getting up @ 4:30 with a mission. Plowing with the 1-ton with a stick was fun again, it's hard to beat plowing with a diesel just off an idle, can't do that with a gas motor or an automatic.
On that note, I put insurance back on 2 motorcycles yesterday, it snowed today, it was gone by noon but still a little too brisk for a ride.
Started pushing out some apple trees last week, put eleven hours in, about 5 pushing them out and 6 piling them up. That was 5 rows the farmer wanted out early, next is about 5 acres of fruit trees he's done with that he's not in a hurry for, so I'll lay them down then log 'em out for fire wood, til I get tired of that, then pile what's left. It's gotta be about motorcycle temp. for that cause sitting on a piece of iron in 30° with a breeze is not as much fun as plowing snow.

Splatz gotta go just by hearing water running in the sink so one can only imagine what'll happen when he hears and sees hopping into your pool.

Wings are out of the playoffs but for a miracle they do not deserve. The good news is they beat Cindy Crosby's Penguins Last nite whom really needed that game to keep their playoff hopes alive. It's called a Spoiler.
No Wings game for me tomorrow nite as its streamed.

10° with alerts of some dandy Spring like weather pinging off on the phone. Wind freezing rain and over six inches of snow headed this way. March come in like a Lion and is leaving like a Tasmanian Devil in these parts.
Daylight in the swamp but think I’ll just hide under the blankets with the Chihuahua awhile longer.

61° and overcast @ 6 A about like it was for yesterday's skeeting where we had a high elevation striated ceiling and enough breeze to keep the chill factor in the 50's. I wasn't uncomfortable shooting w/just a T-shirt and long-sleeved pullover. Had the winds been stronger I would have donned a light jacket. Got out there @ 3 to pull & score for a squad mate who had to fly out of town last night on an unexpected business-related matter in Boston. Glad that I'm no longer having to travel at others beck & call or do spur of the moment tasks that are only a few inches away, on someone's map.

Rest of the group showed by 5:15 and we were shooting by 5:30. I managed a 24 on the first box, dropping the H-3 due to a bbl. Czech rather than looking hard at the target. Stupid, doing that. You'd think I'd know better by now. Second box had to deal w/the X-fire demon, thrice. Once on H-2 & both on 4 and then I shot over the L-6 on the double and ended w/a 21. Can't complain, it was a 45 for 90% and that was done w/the recently sorted 24 gram reloads of new #8.5 shot and WSL powder and Noble Sport 688 primers. Shot them in a 686 Beretta that has short bbl's, no side ribs and extended 5 point constriction Comp-n-Chokes that add almost 2" to the bbl. length. Target breaks were impressive; that indicated I was doing a better than average job of correct gun pointing, empirically speaking. I've not patterned those loads thru that gun & chokes yet. It's on the list, might get that done today or no. As they are prone to say in WI.

Twas fun shooting yesterday. Bride fixed another pot of fresh green beans & taters, so dinned on a coupla bowls and retired early. Gonna catch a few more zzzzzz's now, if I can and then I'll address the day.

Y'all have a good 'un!

20 deg here but supposed to be 50 today. Just got back from New Smyrna Fl. yesterday. Went with a group of guys that raced at the track there. Now they just go down for the fun of it. Last time I was with these guys was over ten years ago. Most kept up well with an occasional recharge. Note graphic recharge photo.
