I made it to the wetlands for a walk this morning. Didn’t feel like dragging along my heavy camera gear, so I took the Canon point and shoot with 50x optical zoom. I missed my Nikon as soon as I started taking pics, but it was still fun. One critter I wasn’t expecting to see was the copperhead. He was swimming through weeds, so it was impossible to get a good shot. Edit: After looking closer, it’s probably a northern water snake. They look similar to copperheads.
There were a few turtles along the way too.
A robin watching over her babies in the nest…
…and several ducks along the way.

These we’re playing shy and never gave me a good shot.
This guy (I guess) just took a bath and was shaking off the water.
All in all an enjoyable time. Tired or not, next time my Nikon goes though.
