WELCOME TO THE WATERING HOLE

A stress-free place to gather and share whatever is on your mind! A fun place of mutual respect where you can hang your hat, vent, relax and shoot the bull for a while!

Happy Easter to all who celebrate that faith.

To all others, Happy Spring!

Easter symbolizes a new beginning, so it is fitting that TWH has a new beginning as well!
Along with RFC, TWH has been remodeled!

Actually, it can be anything you imagine it to be!

I am happy to announce that due to the increased bandwidth of the new RFC, there is no longer a need for the weekly closing and re-opening of TWH!!! After 10+ years of weekly "flipping" we now get to keep the doors open continuously! My sincere thanks to our moderators, especially Sophia, for making this possible!

I would also like to thank all the members who have kept this boat afloat for so long! We have become like family here, and now have a permanent residence! (y) While we have many long-time members who have been enjoying the company found in this amazing virtual bar, we also welcome all new folks. Jump right in! The first drink is always on the house and Veterans always have an open bar!
Al The Infidel (Tubby Slayer extraordinaire) is the bar manager.

So, let's get this re-opening celebration going! Set 'em up, Al! Drinks all around!!!

What happened to the other TWH that was supposed to be perpetual?
Frank (AzTarget) started one years ago that was perpetual until it wasn't Andy. Rhody's was a "refresh weekly" deal. Hence the jostling for first in and last out positions.

Now it's perpetual (until it isn't.) Only rocks last forever on human scale 🤠

Frank
He started one yesterday (or early this morning) which is now gone, along with the post I made there.

I wish Ryobi would make higher power tools that simply use two of their 18V batteries.

Sounds logical, no?

I need to see what the limits are on personal messages.
If you're referring to this site, there are none.
Eflyguy is alive. He just posted in bumper sticker thread.
Thanks for caring.. (y)

It appears someone did something to shut it down.

So my birthday is next month. I found something I really want to do for it. But I am to cheap tp spend the money. If it was for anyone but me I wouldn't think twice about spending the money. What is my problem?
Only you can decide.

I lived for a couple of decades with a wife and daughter that would often not even acknowledge my birthday. Father's day didn't exist.

So mine no longer means anything to me. I do what I want, when I want. Dates are meaningless.
Sitting at Newark airport, flight was delayed 4 hours, switch flight now only 2 hours behind. Hopefully no more delays. Control tower delays and pilot shortages.
I spent 8hrs sitting in an awful sports bar at LGA one Friday afternoon/evening, and only my status got me out that night. Most others were on their own to find accommodation and transportation for the night as flight after flight was cancelled.

Couldn't walk anywhere. Terminal was so packed, you'd never find a place to sit again. People were sleeping on the carpet.

I did have to go find a hotel near EWA once. That was also a Friday night. Company paid for everything but what PIA.

Days not missed..
Anyone else here have to pay for "emissions testing" every year before you can renew your tags?

Between myself, my daughter, and my ex, we have 11 vehicles - although I think the older "classics" are excluded. At least I have a place nearby that charges $15, vs. the standard $25.

Mother's day was March for me, but happy Mother's day anyway.

Back to emissions, it's not be state-wide, only those counties around "Metro Atlanta". Also only back 25yrs, so at least that excludes some of the collection - none of mine, however. Will be first year for the Stinger. The rest are my daughter and ex's problem. :p
We’re going out for a fancy dinner for my daughter's birthday later this month, and as I’m the only one with a 7-seater vehicle, I’ll probably end up driving. My Sorento is fairly clean but I last had it detailed before we went to dinner Christmas 2020. Just over 5000 miles since then, including the trip to MO with my ex for my daughter's BCT graduation. So I am going to swap with her when we meet for trivia on Tuesday and she can give it a wipe-over inside. Don’t know what she’ll swap with, I hope not the Corvette because I need a crane to get me in and out of that! Likely her Challenger.
I've noticed several Kia Stingers around my county lately, they are quite attractive vehicles.
If you make it to Atlanta, look me up. I'll take you for a spin.

It's not stock. Close to 100hp over how it came. 60 in under 4s and probably good for 190, but I've only had it to 176. In Mexico, of course.
Took the truck ('03 F150) for emissions when they opened at 10am. A couple in front of me, told me it would be about 20minutes. An hour later said the machine wouldn't boot up. So over an hour wasted and a gallon of gas to accomplish nothing. Guy who runs the place said he'd give me $5 off when I came back. Won't be today.
I'm in the market for a new 9mm.
What are you looking for?

I'm not selling but between my daughter and I we have quite a variety of 9mm pistols, for competition (USPSA), carry, and home deference. I am no expert but I can offer our experience. We regularly practice drills with all of them laid out on the bench.

I consolidated down from other calibers many years back, the only exception is a 1911.
OK, all appear to be very "19911-like" and I can't help much there. They are all nice enough, nothing wrong with that.

As stated, I have a 1911, but the only "full-size" 9mm's we have are dedicated for USPSA - a G17 and an XD. Neither are pretty like my SR1911, just functional. Other than cost of ammunition and reduced round count, they shoot the same. We carry much smaller pistols.
Just a reminder:

April is National Procrastination Month.
I'll get around to putting that on the calendar.

Wait.. what calendar?
How much are the high & low tides there COW?
COW would know better but a friend of mine manages a 737 production line out in Renton and says they've seen as much as 10'.

He wears his star trek uniform to work (under his lab coat) on occasion so take that for what it's worth! :D I posted a pic of him along with everyone else on his crew in front of the 10,000th 737 a while back. The pic was from many years earlier. We had dinner at Anthony's when we did Spring Break up there - he wore the uniform then.

Just got a photo ticket for doing 24 in a 20.
Ha!

I got a ticket once for running a toll booth in Miami - the same day I had a rental in JAX. Tags were one digit off (5 vs. 6) and the camera mis-read it.

Took a week to resolve.

Now I've done 176 in a 55 but there were no cameras. Previous best was 155 back in the 90's. Mexico, of course.

Did you know those radar speed sign things they put in neighborhoods only read to 55, then blank out? At least, the ones they use around here do.
