A cool sunny Easter morning, here ,in the Valley.Notice several of the neighbors planting stuff in their gardens. Guessers calling for a frost warning tonight,I believe we,ll wait a week. Taters & peas planted last week havent come up yet.
Wife is fixing Deviled eggs and the Ham is resting in the fridge.Son & daughters will be supplying the rest.

Pollen has everything covered with a nice yellow/green covering, it even has me choked up.

Thanks,Wook. Picked a pot of Petunias for the Wife.
We are getting the trip-fecta of winter weather ,here ,in the Valley. Rain,Sleet and snow. Snow is building up on the grass and the roads are slush covered. EMS and Fire are responding to multiple crashes on the roads.
I,m home safe & warm. Will put out some seeds & such for the birds, thought I was done with that for the year.

Thanks for all the well wishes for our anniversary. It rained /snowed all day, here, temps were above freezing so nothing stayed around. 70 points of rain so far.
Saturday night while we were eating dinner,I mentioned to the wife that all the yard work, mowing ect was scratching up my arms.Every little thing would break the skin and I,d bleed.Told her I remembered as a kid that we had BFI powder in the medicine cabinet, and this powder would be put on cuts & scratches(think bicycle road rash) to stop the bleeding. A google search found that BFI powder was no longer available. However she found this product called "WoundSeal" that is a powder that "stops bleeding Instantly".A package in todays mail contained 4x4 packs of the stuff.
Thought this may be of help to you old geezers that have thin skin and are on blood thinners or daily aspirin. I havent tried it out ,yet.

Yesterdays snow storm lingered on this morning with some squalls blowing down the mountain. Didnt amount to anything. Temps have climbed out of the 30s but the wind chill is still down there.
Grass will have to be cut agan by the end of the week as temps then will be in the 70s,and with the rain ,things are jumping. Apple tres starting to bloom.Havent seen or heard any Gobblers for awhile. Hens should be setting (here) by now.

Spent most of yesterday on the road. Several of us went to the "Spring Carlisle" show. That is acers of old & new parts & cars , None of us had a project in the works ,so it was just 4 old guys hobbling around. It started to rain on us about noon.We holed up in one of the vendor tents for awhile, then made the long walk back to the truck in the rain. Decided to head back home as there wasnt anything we saw that really needed to be taken home.

Traffic on I 81 north & south was bad, only one accident that we saw on the way home, but traffic was backed up for miles on the north bound side.
Today will bring more mowing....

Another warm day ,here, in the Valley.Yesterdays mowing, dust and pollen have left me with a sore throat and runny eyes & nose. Will stay inside today and rest.
My new shooting glasses arrived in yesterdays mail. Between the new Rx and the lens color things really stand out.Now there is one less excuse for a miss.

Its a cool day ,here, in the Valley.Temps over the weekend were in the 80s and that got everything with pollen popping.I have never been bothered with any pollen allergies, but this year they took hold. Sore throat, runny nose, sneezing all the stuff you see on the TV commercials.Mostly better today, but nose dripping like a bad faucet.
Rain guessed for later today,I hope it washes the air.
Happy Hemi Day.

My focus was off......finally found the rodent.Cold & windy today. Freeze warning for tonight. I dont have anything tender out .May have been a tornado, yesterday about 40 miles south of here.
Head is still stopped up ,drainage causing me to cough, and that hurts.
Question.....how long is the life span of a hardwired smoke detector ? The one in the basement is chirp ing.New in 88 I think.

Rhody, did that, knocked the cobwebs out too. So far so good.
Hey gang!
I was out late last night with an old gal pal so got very little sleep before going to work today. Got out of work today, got a haircut and came home and chilled out. I have to go in extra early tomorrow to meet up with a crane company that will be putting units on a roof for us. All those units are in my box truck as we speak waiting to be delivered tomorrow morning!

I am in bed nice and early so should be feeling just fine with an early start tomorrow.

Have a great night everyone!

Most hardwired smoke detectors have a battery backup.
They will chirp when the battery backup gets low. Change that battery, vacuum out any dust and you should be good to go!

Its a better day ,here, in the Valley today. I,m finally getting on top of whatever crud clogged up my head & chest.Coughing has slowed and is not as violent.Overnight temps have been in the 30s,so that has slowed the pollen production.
Will need gas (up 10cents) to finish mowing what I started last week. Some of it is ready to be cut for hay.It may rain overnight.

It was a nice sunny morning at 10am.But now at almost noon we have had it cloud up and Thunder storm. The first one of the day, guessers say there will be more all day long. Well it is a bit dry and the pollen needs to be washed out of the air, so thats good.Maybe I,ll work in the gun room.

The morning fog finally burned off, now the temps may hit 80*. Yesterdays/last night T-Storms never showed, and I even cleaned the gutters getting ready for them.
Need to get on the monthly water filter change and then some more mowing.

I mowed my grass off, yesterday. So today I rested.Sharpened the blade and tweeked the RPM,s so it will cut & bag better.
Due to the recent scores I have been shooting, the ATA reduced me a yard.......like that will help.
Waiting for the guessed T-Storms.Think I,ll go plant my peppers before it rains.
