WELCOME TO THE WATERING HOLE

A stress-free place to gather and share whatever is on your mind! A fun place of mutual respect where you can hang your hat, vent, relax and shoot the bull for a while!

Happy Easter to all who celebrate that faith.

To all others, Happy Spring!

Easter symbolizes a new beginning, so it is fitting that TWH has a new beginning as well!
Along with RFC, TWH has been remodeled!

Actually, it can be anything you imagine it to be!

I am happy to announce that due to the increased bandwidth of the new RFC, there is no longer a need for the weekly closing and re-opening of TWH!!! After 10+ years of weekly "flipping" we now get to keep the doors open continuously! My sincere thanks to our moderators, especially Sophia, for making this possible!

I would also like to thank all the members who have kept this boat afloat for so long! We have become like family here, and now have a permanent residence! (y) While we have many long-time members who have been enjoying the company found in this amazing virtual bar, we also welcome all new folks. Jump right in! The first drink is always on the house and Veterans always have an open bar!
Al The Infidel (Tubby Slayer extraordinaire) is the bar manager.

So, let's get this re-opening celebration going! Set 'em up, Al! Drinks all around!!!

What happened to the other TWH that was supposed to be perpetual?
Frank (AzTarget) started one years ago that was perpetual until it wasn't Andy. Rhody's was a "refresh weekly" deal. Hence the jostling for first in and last out positions.

Now it's perpetual (until it isn't.) Only rocks last forever on human scale 🤠

I know that was what you meant as you said TWH in your post.

It was a premature post-ulation! We were working out the bugs and it wasn't supposed to be where it went! dlong and you jumped in before the situation was rectified.

I think they they have pills for that brother. Feel better soon! LOL

He started one yesterday (or early this morning) which is now gone, along with the post I made there.
Oy Vey! This particular part of the forum has always been like the Tower of Babel anyway :p

It was my fastest disappearing Last eva!

An Admin Curmudgeon from the past called it drivel! She was the closest I ever came to a timeout or worse... that I know of. 😇

Wings are still winning 0/0.
That is an interesting bit of history Al! I can't imagine you being a thorn in anyone's side....your star just shone too brightly for her, it's the only explanation :p

E-4 Mafia never get lost Frank. We just leave a breadcrumb trail of empty beer cans and tequila bottles for quick egress back to the barracks 😎

And one found over the southern border! 🙄
I liked the article below about weeding out extremism in the military by banning the Marine Corps. LOL! 😂

Pleasant radiology/ultrasound tech whinny'd like a small young pony when I made her laugh during my most uncomfortable 70min flat on my back who told me I should write a book.
Shloppy sleet n snow to n fro @ 35ºF.
I'm sorry you're having to go through that Al but I like your positive mental attitude!

...and no worries on the weather, a couple more weeks of faux spring and then it'll be safe for momma to plant her less hardy stuff. We're supposed to be 78 tomorrow but it'll snow again, guaranteed!

Well in the last 2 months, I picked up a Rough Rider 6", YHM Phantom 22 suppressor, and yesterday a Mark II FV-SR. So hopefully it's a while before I head to CZ. Lol
You're going to fit right in KP, welcome!

Soon we will introduce you to Renaissance wax, Big 45 pads, and Dr Gunner's supercool cleaning kits 😎

Try to avoid Jaia's 50 at 50 and 50 at 100 threads for awhile...they are somewhat discomfiting LOL

Busy morning with lots of calorie free fat chewing exploring accessories such as graphics and ceramic durability etc..

Finn insisted on mwa in the pic. Graphics on the rear storage bins aka Ram Boxes, will be done when the graphics arrive, or later in this world of whenever.

Yes on the low range gear Wolf. It took me up the Iron Mt ski hill I was too skeert to go back down.
That's a sweet looking ride Al, congratulations!

Hope he gets the cure and goes to engineering school.
The writer, or the local PD commenting, need to have a better understanding of tools. They state it has a drill bit for a firing pin, when in fact it is a torx bit or an allen bit. Hard to tell. :D
Well, "Old What's His Name" did say to use a shotgun, so this should get a pass.
Put that bad boy on Gun Broker and with today's buying frenzy make an easy 300 clams. That's some Mad Max engineering there!

I thought it was a novel use of Devcon, or whatever the goop is holding some of the contraption together. He does need a bit of breech work experience though.
Definitely a beginner ghost gunner NNT. Not a pro example like this little jewel!

Anybody heard from Sophia, or am I missing something? Beginning to get worried.
Busy hauling bedraggled broken password stragglers back on board I imagine JN.

This has to have been a nutty month for her and the rest of the admin team!

Morning Al and all!

Took the boss around to 2 garden centers yesterday afternoon. Got some nifty solar lights for her raised beds to replace old worn out ones and a couple bags of potting soil to top off her planters.

That's going to be my 1/2 day of honest work today helping her get everything ready for planting. Too early yet to actually stab anything in, we're almost guaranteed one or two more snow/freeze events.

Prices on plants seem to be up 20-30% from last year but what isn't up. I don't care, makes her happy and she really does a beautiful display in the front and back beds and pots.

Have a fine safe day all,

Frank

Anyone else here have to pay for "emissions testing" every year before you can renew your tags?

Between myself, my daughter, and my ex, we have 11 vehicles - although I think the older "classics" are excluded. At least I have a place nearby that charges $15, vs. the standard $25.
Yep Andy, $25 every 2 years on gas and $70 every year on diesel for dyno/OBD testing. New cars are exempt for the first 7 years as are1982 and older models.

I understand the need, Denver has always had an air quality problem nestled in a bowl up against the foothills. They could have the same results catching smokers by running sniffer vans around the metro area at %10 of the price of lining us all up like cattle every 2 years. No changing it now.

We also traded our vehicle inspection program for this emissions deal. Pre-1995 once a year all vehicles would get at least a cursory check by a certified mechanic on basic safety features. No longer...busted windshield, bad brakes, broken lights, no problem as long as the tailpipe is clean

Row faster kid, Caesar wants to ski 😎

9 years, 9 months for me.
Sunday marked 43 years at the same job for me. I'll give it to 50 and see if I still look forward to driving in every morning.

Eflyguy most old people eat early because they are cheap and go for the Blue plate special.

If we go out we eat early because it's calmer, much quieter, and the service is usually better. Paying good money to sit amidst a cacophonous mob not being able to hear each other speaking in normal tones is more punishment than pleasure.

I will add you tomorrow. I am just carrying on a tradition the Mayor started. So I am reluctant to add people to the list he started. But you are one of the ancients so I think he would approve.

Speaking of ancient, you're crossing the half century mark next month kid. I see ARRP magazines and mystery aches and pains in your future 😎

It's okay. I always get bad around this time of year. This Wednesday it will be eight years since my wife passed.

Depression is like a nice case of the shingles Frank. It's hard for people to understand the pain unless/until they've lived through it.

I wish you weren't so chemical averse. There are newer medications available that will take the edge off without zombifying you.

You're a big boy, you can handle it. Maybe a nice trip to Red Lobster and hey, what do you want for your birthday?? 😎
