She's eating acorns which I've never witnessed up close, they eat them like a cardinal eating sunflower seeds.

Splitter was too heavy to move by hand so had to use the tractor to set up to split, then again to drag it out of the pile and reposition for more splitting. Not any more! Added half of a cherry shaker catching frame for self propel and steering. When I was younger I used to split at 34", but have found in my wiser years its easier to handle 24" pieces. If I get bored it may end up all the same color, doubt that.

I like it Koonta. Did you build the splitter part? If you make all the same color, you'll need to add some racing strips and a hemi.
I did, 30 years ago, a year after I got the outside hot water stove. Its' power comes from an old single cylinder Wisconsin that I run just off an idle and have never thrown a piece of wood it wouldn't split, It's kinda slow but still put a sweat on me=fast enough.

It’s been a couple weeks since checking in, it’s been real busy with growers planting in between rain storms and mushroom hunting. So far about 200 morel. Here are a couple photos of the equipment one of growers I’m working with is using. A far cry from the 6 row plant grandpa used.

Brian great photos with the grandkids.
Started "farming" with a Farmall cub then graduated to a Farmall super C sixty years ago. Neither had room for a waste basket.

Got out and did yard work this afternoon. Mowed Mom's yard, finished mowing mine as I had done half yesterday then started erasing weeds with the internal combustion engine powered rotating plastic cord erasing machine. Did that far too long and now I am paying the price for it in considerable quantities of pain. When I quit at dark I was covered with dirt, bloody from rock hits and didn't think I'd make it to the bathroom for a hot shower. Then found that I had forgotten to take my pills this morning which no doubt added to to the pain unnecessarily. I hardly ever forget to do that.

I'm still quite happy with the Stihl KM91R and attachments, best thing that that I've been able to buy. Always starts easily and runs perfectly. The Stihl chainsaw has tempted me a few times to take a very heavy hammer and displace it into the planetary crust. That might be because of the fuel that had been used in it in the past, unknown. Using Stihl synthetic oil mix in ethanol free gas it has ran well most of the time. Wants to stall at idle even after adjustment. The EZ Start ratchet pawls broke twice. The bar oil leaks out unless you leave tank side down and always has since new. Otherwise it cuts well and the tool free bar adjustment works as it should.

Enjoying driving the little white Hyundai Elantra Coupe. Gotta make the first payment tomorrow. 😭
I had that oil leaking problem on one of my Stihls', on the bottom there is a tiny hole with a spring loaded check ball that keeps the oil tank from going into a vacuum. Mine had a little piece of sawdust caught in it so it couldn't seal. If I remember correctly I just worked it with a pick.

I was wrong! imagine that. That check valve is under the bar cover.

Come out of ACE and some maroon kid with earphones on is now cleaning the parking lot with a battery powered rotating broom sweeper spitting sand n gravel at my truck. Hollered loud enough for him to hear me, and then see me gesture to pull out his earphones. Told him WTH ya doing shooting ____ @ a shiny NEW truck.... and he 1/2 arse says "Sorry". Are you bleeping $66K sorry?? Good luck in the future Murica. rant off, almost

Sitting in line @ the drug store and a guy on a men's bicycle goes by with a trotting dog leashed to the left handlebar, an 18x18"ish box clasped under the left arm, steering with the right and a 4yr old lil girl sitting on the cross tube riding side saddle with no helmet and hanging on for dear life!
Keep those kind on the north side of the Bridge, Ok?

Got an inch and a half of rain last night with wind in the tree tops, eh, just a storm, garden liked it. What impressed me was the thunder, pretty much one steady roar for an hour+.

Rose can now add gophers to her resume. We stopped by the ex to do some golf cart repairs and Rose figured she should show the ex her skills. She's been on a roll this week taking out chippys, got another before we left the house this morning. Me on the other hand demonstrated my ability to put a mach2 round through a railing spindle being a jerk behind the trigger on a bird feeder chippy.

A spurt of energy after the 3-4” of rain slowly dissipated. Was out bandsawing and grinding away at a hunk of cherry burl making a palm rest for a heavy lens. Neighbor lady pulled in and said something to my deaf ear, chatted s bit and she said my wife was hollering for me. Teather was beeping I guess as meandered to the back door. Phone call from D2 saying her boyfriends car is on fire. He bought the little Kia beater an hour before so told her wrong number you need the fire department😎

Poured a fresh cuppa coffee and was trying to decide whether hotdogs or a camera should bd taken along. Camera as hotdogs cooked over electrical fires leave a bad taste.
A block from her house I found them setting in the car, no flames. He said he was smoking the clutch on his new to him stick shift. Let daughter take my car to the house while I checked out and drove his car. First note, we’re you trying to drive with handbrake on? Yup, forgot! Really need more horsepower and torque to drive with that on, released I drove the car showing him shift points until the smell went away. Switched seats and let him drive me back on back country roads coaching him. He’ll get the hang of it but likely burned 20k miles of clutch life away in that block driven.

Gotta learn somehow as few get that experience in this day and age.
When I first got my 1 ton I had to replace the parking brake shoes, with the bigger diesel and only one chime to let you know you forgot I understood why. After about 8 years of missing that one chime they'll hold if I park on a flat spot once again. And I've learned to like it like that.

Everything works for me except the bumpy riding 20" wheels which I intend to replace with 18"ers so I can let more air out of em.
For years 1/2 tons were 15" and 3/4s were 16", my '98 was on 16s", the "04 and '09 are both 17s", now they've gone to 18s"? Might as well forget the air and run wagon wheels.
