My stock '72 (except for volq hammer) 10/22 has always had mediocre accuracy.

Just barely good enough for plinking. But its dependability is incredible.

Yesterday I was at the range with a couple rilfes and odds and ends of ammo.

For the hell of it, I stuck some CCI Velocitors into the 10/22.

Dime-size groups at 40 yards. Still not a tack driver, but plenty good for jack hunting. Those Velocitors hit hard--poor man's magnum.

Guess I'll put off buying an aftermarket barrel for another year.

Dime sized groups at 40 yards with the factory barrel is good in my book, especially with Velocitors.
