I just purchased this rest and it looks good but the bags that came with it seem not to work very well :( What bags do you guys recommend for the front and for the back ? As far as the forearms on my rifles go there not that wide I have a barracuda stock and a henry lever action . Do you actually want the rest griping the forearm or just lying there Thanks allot as you can tell Ive never used a real rifle rest very much

Protektor bags front and rear. A owl ear front and bunny ear rear. The forearm should rest against the sides of the front bag. The rifle is supposed to slide back under recoil. I had to special order a bag from Protektor to get one that suited me. Get the narrowest one you can to start off with. you might look at the ones on the Sincalir web site. www.sinclairintl.com

I have one too (Rock BR) and I think it's a pretty nice rest. Alas, I'm not real keen about that lobe bag either. Tried it once, and my rifle didn't seem to like it either.

I can't recommend front and rear bags (I'm not that experienced), but I'm using various models of Protektor products (Front and rear bags), depending on the type of stock I'm shooting (Target/varmint or sporter). I use a wide owl ear front and bunny ear rear for target/varmint, and a narrow front and rabbit ear rear for sporter. If your fore end is narrow, I'd say you'll want a narrow front bag, and if you don't have a cheek piece (Target or Monte Carlo style) on the rear of stock, probably a rabbit ear rear bag. Protektor bags are very well made and I don't think you'll go wrong with them.

Cheers,

Mark

I tried a caldwell front bag the narrowest one they make is still way too wide for a sporter stock like my CZ 452 American. And the quality was not near as good as Protektor products.
