I found one a couple months ago.....

like new,,just about as close to unfired as I could tell. Mine is the open sight model [the peep should be more desirable I'd say].
These are not common rifles from the few I've ever been able to find!

NOTICE the groove in the stock in the bolt travel way. Stem under bolt rides back and this groove is not in/on 69/69As. I have not looked, but I'm guessing it is part of the auto safety mechanism.
I have more pictures of this rifle if anyone's interested.

posting pictures:

I just DID find the small icon on here...the yellow square in the small line of icons on the posting area [?!?].
Then,,I take my LARGE pictures in my files, most of which have been 'cropped' by me...and RESIZE them to a STANDARD size,,then they fit nicely in the posts here. This sight has some nice picture editing [automatic] that arranges the pictures as you see,,but I think you have to presize them first to a same size.
Just a guess,,but that appears to be what happens.
Now to take a picture of the 1885 made in 1909 I have. Has been relined [arghh],,,but NICE rifle as you'll see. Someone has chambered it to 22 Magnum and I think they used the .222" bore liner so cases don't come out easily [high pressure or rough chamber].
I'm going to drill out the liner and put a new one in.
QUESTION IS,,,,what chambering!!!?
my first choice it 22 SHORT MATCH
2nd is 17 Mach II
3rd is 17 HMR.

ok,,,22 SHORT,,only one a REAL 1885 should be made to. It was a 25RF from factory.

What's it worth??? {Win 47 in the pictures}?

I'm guessing if auctioned,,this like new Win 47 would bring in excess of $325. The very few 47s I see on the auction sights are in much worse condition, and the sellers still want high $300s to $400s[!].
It seems I wanted to find one to tinker with,,possibly even using the action for my LONG OVERDUE 22 SHORT MATCH bench rifle. But wouldn't you KNOW it,,,I find an actual "minty" rifle that even has a tiny bit of figure in the buttstock [!]
I shot 5 CB Longs out the back yard and pulled a patch thru the bore after. The bolt is almost rough,,as the NEW bolts were before being cycled by youngsters a few hundred times. The 'wear' mark on the bolt base is not there. This is the point where Winchester bolt 22 rifle fans commonly look to see how many times the bolt has riden the action slot and locked down to firing position,,at least that's where I look at the 69/69As etc, I find.
The more valuable would be the 80A peep version of this rifle, I'm sure. This Win 47 must have hidden in a safe since the late 1940s early 1950s.
Too nice to 'make wear marks' I'm guessing,,and I'm a SHOOT IT kind of guy.

my Win 47....

Ralfus, with all the Winchesters I've got, I still don't have a Model 47. It's all I can do to keep from calling Alaninga about buying his.

TR, you've got me, no 47. But if you want pictures, I've brought my thread "Support Diversity" to the top. I didn't want to step on Ralfus's thread with all my pictures. But here's the link if it falls off the page.

I love pictures. :D
call [e mail] me. I'm thinking of reducing the "collection".
