Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone has experience with stocks from these guys?

rifle-stocks.com

I am particularly interested in the "Bench Rest Thumbhole" model.

They don't make them for the 453, (only 452) but a bit of inletting does not bother me.

Any opinions would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Nigel

Never owned one, but my gunsmith has finished a number of the Richard's stocks and seems to believe that they are quite serviceable. I have handled one of their Dual Grip thumbhole style stocks, and while I wouldn't particularly want one for my own use, it was a very attractive stock.

They usually are pretty rough but can be finished out o.k....

but some have reported poor inletting. Never heard of anyone actually managing to get one without waiting at least six months. That's what has stopped me from buying one. I don't like to do business with companies that bill me now and don't ship for six to eight months.

Thanks guys,

I guess the idea would be to buy one that they have in stock. (no pun intended. lol)

He had the exact one I wanted in the bargain bin, but it was sold by the time I enquired about it. Their email responce is very fast.
