i have the same problem as you, but instead, my front two holes are stripped and one of the rear is stripped as well. since only the top of the holes are stripped, i simply used a drill and drilled the holes in the scope mount deeper so that the screws would engage the threads lower down in the holes. this worked quite well in conjunction with locktite but now i have a cantilever scope mount and thus am able to skip the aggrivation. since i never really did much presicion shooting before i got the cantilever scope mount, i cannot tell you if accuracy will be affected that much. however, it was quite sufficient for plinking.

stripped holes

I wouldn't wory about it..I usually mount my one piece bases to where they don't stick out in front and this only uses 3 holes...and my oldest is 30yrs old now.......I was told that some of the base screws by some companies are being outsourced to the C word and are substandard but I did my stripping trying to get Burris rings on the Weaver base....the specs don't match up all the time and the feet of the rings were hitting the top of the receiver and I had the gunsmith drill and tap the holes for #8-32 screws for 3 holes but my old gun still is going strong with the factory 3 holes in its base....so don't worry with 3 loctite screws you will be fine......good luck and good shooting!!!

Brownells sells over sized 6-48 screws for this application. Or you can have a smith redrill and tap for 8-32 or 8-40. Cost should be 10 to 12.50 per hole. Be sure to enlarge the holes in the base for the larger scrw shank.
