Will this be a descent scope for a .22 multi purpose use.

Yes. No. If you mean BR rifle and want to shoot at 50, 100 or farther, you might find more magnification helpful. I have one on a 10/22 Silhouette rig with PC base & medium Burris Signature rings. Very clear & bright and precise enough for silhouettes when it's not wigglin' & jumpin' around. HTH

Larebow, I have this same scope on a 17 HMR 77/17 and it works great !!!! I just ordered another for my 22 mag ......tough scope and they work. A guy could spend twice as much and not get twice the scope in my opinion......don't get me wrong, I also own high dollar glass and it has its place....I'm just saying for my application this scope on a rimfire is all I need and more.
