I was at a gunshow today and I picked up a brand new in the box stainless heavey barrel TC .22 stamped Silver Lynx. Anybody have or know anything about these models? I already have a TC Classic that I love, its a tack driver, alas it has the dreaded chamber chip and i'm not sure of its futur.

Any info, opinions on the Lynx model apreciated.

Cheers

I have one Silver Lynx
and an R55 they both shoot very accuratly .

At 50 yds with a front and rear rest I can get 3/16ths of an inch groups

edge to edge ! . A slight reprofiling of the extractor will protect the chamber

from the dreaded chip ( no big deal )

The tolerances are very tight meaning a match chamber , no waxed bullets as

the wax will build up and it will have FTF as it doesnt get into battery .

the same applies to dirty powders ... No Remington for me !

Winchester super X target , American Eagle , copper washed clean burning

powder is a must .

Enjoy it as they are no longer made , few were willing to pay the price and it

wasnt worth it to make them any more .

How many rounds in those groups, & what kind of ammo?

3/16" = 0.1875" - most every 22 bullet I've ever seen or heard of is about .22" diameter (give or take a few thousandths). I've measured single bullet holes in good target paper that register slightly under .21". 3/16" groups center to center is certainly doable (not by me :p ) but edge to edge, I'm doubtful...

That is 3 rounds in the same hole ,

the paper is Not target paper so its not a clean cut and is less in diameter than the

round , Maybe .19"

it gets darker around the edges with each round and was slightly oval in the end

( vertically ) The ammo was Winchester Target .
