Other than needing to clean the chamber... if it's marked for both, it shouldn't be a problem. I wouldn't think it would anyway.

Shooting Shorts in a LR Chamber

flintsteel,

The prolonged shooting of .22 Shorts in a Long Rifle chamber may result in a lead build-up in the chamber, which could cause problems in the chambering of .22LR rounds. This lead build-up can be very difficult to remove...! !

So long as you are aware of the possible consequences, the shooting of Shorts is safe.

Lead buildup

I have had this happen due to feeding a lever action .22 LR a steady diet of CB longs.

The primary symptom is burn marks on the outsides of the spent LR cartridges. I was able to remove the build up with thorough cleaning however. Just be mindful, shoot safe, and have fun.
