Serial number differances?

2056 Views 13 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  ResilientArms
I have an earlier, 6000, serial number m4 elite rifle. It has been a good shooter with little to no problems so far. I have read that some changes were made to the ejector at some point and a reference to, over 20000, numbers and the safety.

Should I be looking to upgrade to a newer rifle or is mine good to go for the long haul? Are there any other upgrades to the newer guns or things I should look out for in my older rifle?

I have seen or heard that to. Tippmann Arms any comment on this ?
With the pre 20k serial numbers you are limited in what AR accessories will be compatible with your gun. On the post or greater than 20k serial numbered M4-22's you can add a number of aftermarket AR accessories i.e. drop in triggers, ambi-safety. I have a pre 20K M4-22 and had to make some modifications to the lower to take an aftermarket trigger as an example. You don't necessarily need to upgrade or buy a new gun but to have the benefits of the upgrades it may not be a bad idea. Check with me at Resilient Arms if you like and we'd see what type of deal we could setup for you. I take care of our Tippmann owners.

So it's more of a trigger compatability & safety selector thing than a function thing.

Like I can't put an ambi safey in my #6000 gun type of thing. Or an aftermarket trigger won't or might not be compatible with my gun. I can live with that.

Most will work, for example the Elftmann drop in trigger, you need to buy the one with 'No Knob' that's about the only one I can think of where you need to be careful on when buying. All others i.e. Timney, TriggerTech, Geissele, etc. have not had any issues.

Not to hijack this thread, but will the new Elftmann Match Finger Adjustable (aka Knob) trigger work in the new Bug Out model Tippmann pistols?
I believe the bug out takes all the same triggers that will work with the "regular" tippmann models.

Thank you, but no one seems to know if this particular trigger works. Neither Tippmann nor Elftmann seems to know based on their responses to my inquiries.
Gotcha. Can't help with that.

I looked at the lowers on the Bug Out and 'non-Bug Out' M4-22's and did some measurements and can say with a high level of confidence the Elftmann and other drop in triggers should work fine in the Bug Out model's.

Good evening , I remember the name now, I bought 10 tippman mags from you a few months ago on gunbroker :) Thanks again.... I had a question for you, Do you know if a standard ar-15 binary trigger will work with a newer elite bug out pistol? I have a couple of them and really don't wanna be a Guinea pig and try them , only to find out they wont drop in and work.

I don't have a BUG OUT, but from reading other posts, the BUG OUT does NOT accept aftermarket trigers.
For US Tippmann M4-22 owners

Most after market triggers will work with the Bug Out models, including binary triggers.
