Sent back Smith Victory

I sent my Victory 22 back to Smith yesterday. The bore has a few areas where defects are present. Any idea what the turn around time is these days? In 35 years of shooting Smith & Wesson handguns this is only the second time I had to send one back. The other was a 617 in the late 1990s.

I found an older thread on the Smith & Wesson forum where similar bore marking were present in a Victory.

Took exactly one month , sent July 29 and received today August 29. Barrel was replaced and appears defect free. Will be the first gun I shoot next range session.

My 16 yr old son has one, thankfully without that issue. We enjoy shooting it a lot. I have a couple of Buckmarks and it will hang with them if he concentrates. Glad it was repaired for you.
Glad Smith & Wesson took care of you. Please let us know your thoughts after you have a chance to shoot it.

Shoots pretty well with the new barrel , the limiting factor now is the trigger - might try to replace it later. Some targets from last Friday at 50 yards slow fire and 25 yards timed fire. Although I "cheated" using two hands not one handed like the bullseye shooters do.

Looking pretty good there Four52 shooter! I went with the Tandemkross trigger with adjustable pre-travel and over-travel screws, and a set of Bullseye thumbrest grips. The Thunder hammer will make the trigger pull even better, but I haven't taken that step yet.

Thanks! Yeah the Tandemkross is the trigger I plan to buy for my Victory too. Was it very difficult to install? Oh those grips look fantastic too!

I will have to be honest. Installing the Tandemkross trigger was one of the trickiest things I have ever encountered in my various after-market component installs, but the results were definitely worth the effort. However, I'm sure that for most people it was just an easy process.🙂
Yes, I really love the grips. Very nice texture for good grip and good thumb rest but still gives good access for reaching the magazine release. They were a little pricey, but I still highly recommend them.
