Scope Objective Bell Wrap.... Why?

767 Views 6 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  T0rtuga
Watching YT vids, it appears that a great many folks put a wrap of some sort on the objective bell on their scopes.

Is this a fashion statement? An aid to help ID your rifle? An effort to protect the scope from dents n' dings?

It's to avoid trashing the scope on barricades when you put it through an opening like a vtac. The ones that work best are the scope chaps inho but I use vet wrap also.

Yup, that.👆

I don't expect my expensive optics to come out of matches unscathed, but vet wrap gives them a little protection from getting banged around ladders, cattle gates, bus windows, dump trucks and other weird props that sadistic match creators come up with.

Plus, depending on the color/pattern it has to add at LEAST 10% more to ones' cool factor.😎

Add 10fps too also curs down on glare for by standers to help witness all your glory. Or in my case fumbling a mag change and whining about eating too much free lunch pizza and being unable to move.

Do you get bonus style points if the vet wrap matches your socks?

I stick to the stuff with bitter apple. It must work, no one has chewed on my Kahles yet.
