If I were to adjust my scopes point of aim for 50yards and then re adjust for 100yards as needed (trying to snipe those squirrels)
And return it to 50yrd zero each time,Is this going to wear out my scope or can it take it?

Some of the better scopes can take this for a while, the Weaver T series was adopted by quite a few silhouette shooters for its accurate tracking and return to zero.
Most of the more economical scopes lack the precision required for accurate repeatable adjustment.
Have you considered a scope with Mil-dot reticle?
Once learned it makes holdover a breeze.

I have thought about a mil dot.But really liked the price of the simmons pro air for the money 4-12x40 1/8moa-ao 140.00
I also like the looks of the balistic plex by Burris 3-9x40
No ao and its 200.00 The hold over marks are attractive.
