I only have the Single Six. What is the difference in the hammers?I'm thinking of getting a Super Blackhawk hammer for the Single Six. It would be soo much more comfortable on the old thumb. Anyone done this? Do you have a pic you can share?

Yer in luck you could try The Bisley hammer if you can find one, these guys on Ruger forum tell you about it.It's the new model. Darn it. I never thought about the size difference.
I wondered about that, and whether it is just that the SBH frame is larger, so the hammer looks lower.....The SBH hammer has a wider area to cock with your thumb and it is shaped so that it is lower to the frame. Easier to reach.

Can I use a Bisley single six hammer without a Bisley...
I previously had a Bisley hammer installed on a 'straight' Single Six using a Bisley trigger. Can I substitute a Bisley hammer for a conventional spurred Single Six hammer and continue to use the original Single Six trigger? from what I've noticed recently Ruger makes different hammer spurs for the BHK/Vaquero configuration i think they make a SASS Montado hammer the spur is lower and a bit wider. here is a Youtube vid.I wondered about that, and whether it is just that the SBH frame is larger, so the hammer looks lower.....
