Some time ago a Sillouette shooter freind suggested to me that the Savage magazines would fit and function in my Anschutz 22lr. I bought a couple and sure enough they worked. Not as smooth a fit into the rifle since they do not have the little plastic lower that serves as a stop. This makes it easy to push the mag too far into the rifle, just a little quirk not hard to work around.
Now I have bought a 1517HB and I am wondering if the same is true with the mag for it.

Will the Savage 22WMR magazine function in a Anschutz 22WMR or 17 HMR?

Many of the better quality twentytwo rifles use a very similar design. My Stevens 416, Remington 521T, Winchester 75T and Norinco TU-KKW (CZ/BRNO clone) all use magazines that almost - but not quite - interchange. Any one could likely be easily modified to fit the other.
