I use wheat in my home made bags. Bit lighter than sand cause it doesn't pack down as dense but I'm able to nestle it down nicely to make a nice rest. Might be worth a try. I use it in both my front and rear bags that I made.

Never heard that one before, good idea. If the shooting sucks, you can always go home and make bread!

hey ken,if you are shooting comp you may need to look at the rules for SAND BAG FILLER.here in oz its got stuff you and can`t use.

I do shoot competition and the rules definately call for sand only in the bags.

However, nice warm bread with butter, still tastes better than a mouthfull of sand.
