I'm in the process of purchasing a slightly used Mk II...

Blued 6 7/8" bull barrel, receiver that IS NOT drilled & tapped.

What does anyone recommend for a scope base? I intend on mounting a red dot scope.

I'm not finding a whole lot out there... Please assist!

Thanks...

Look in this thread. I just bought a mount from Midway that is just tits. A spacer replaces your rear sight and the mount attaches to that. Rock solid. It was $25 to my door including a donation to the NRA.

If price is a concern Weaver makes a one piece base that can be used.

I talked to my gunsmith about how much he was going to charge me to drill and tap the receiver for a Clark base I was going to order, that's when he suggested the Weaver base (sorry I do not know the stock number).

The Weaver base works as well as the Clark on one of my other MK II's.

If price isn't a concern I can highly recomend the Clark base as well. The rear sight does not have to be removed with either base. And with the scope removed the bases do not get in the way of a good sight picture with the iron sights.
