Ruger 10/22 Target SD

Some time back I mounted a SAKO silencer and Harris Bipods on my Ruger 10/22 Target after having the stock refinished to black.

Now, the "clack" from the bolt is starting to annoy my, so Im taking it to the next level.

Now I need the following parts:
Extended Mag Release
Bolt Recoil Buffer ("plastic-type")
Allen Take Down Screw (same Allen size as mag?)
Couple of mags (these are about 80USD in Denmark, the rest have a 4 month+ waiting period)

Anyone know a place who sell and ship these items to Denmark? Can you recommend any other part? Perhaps some last round, bolt open thingy or something???

BTW ... NICE forum... already member on BattleRifles.com

Here are a few places to try, sorry I don't know about shipping to denmark:

www.hawktecharms.com
www.rimfiresports.com
www.weaponkraft.de ???? (Do a search on google for weaponkraft...or go to the mainpage and look at the links section)
www.staffordsales.com
www.redstararms.com

That's all I can think of...and they're all sponsors.

Shipping to Denmark for the parts you mentioned would be $7.55 via Air Mail, which is the best value for a delivery time of 4-7 days.
Nice site - been there before I think.

Im standing between a WeaponsKraft and a Volquartsen Bolt Recoil Buffer.

Which should I get, when Im going for the SILENCE!?
Wish I Could Help, Lasse.

The only shipping I have access to is US Postal Service Global Express Mail. It has tracking, insurance, and delivery confirmation, and that's the only way I'll ship to foreign countries.
The problem is that I checked the Prohibitions, and would have to have an export license to send gun parts of any type to the Netherlands.

http://ircalc.usps.gov/prohibitions/Netherlands.htm

Does that suck or what!?

I REALLY don't want to risk a trip to Club Fed!

Sorry:( - Dakotan
Ditto what Dakotan said. I didn't check the prohibitions before determining costs. Good catch. Therefore we can't send either.

Prohibitions for Netherlands
Firearms and parts thereof, except under permit.
Radioactive materials.
Tickets and publicity for lotteries.
Live plants and animals.
Arms and weapons.
Human remains.

I wonder what's so dangerous about "Tickets and publicity for lotteries?"
Denmark

Alan & Reed,

Jutland, Denmark is NOT in the Netherlands...! !

Check for Denmark...! ! :)

Footnote:
Per the USPS Regulations, Pub. 141, Page 198, the mailing of firearms parts is not prohibited to Denmark.

10/22 Parts & Allen Wrenches

LKHanberg,
Now I need the following parts:

Extended Mag Release
Bolt Recoil Buffer ("plastic-type")
Allen Take Down Screw (same Allen size as mag?)
Couple of mags (these are about 80USD in Denmark, the rest have a 4 month+ waiting period)
Comments:
0 Extended Mag Release: Probably would get the "VQ" as it is all metal, not plastic.
0 Bolt Recoil Buffer: Get the "WeaponKraft" buffer, which is the 'Best' out there.
0 Allen Take Down Screw: Get the "WeaponKraft"; it requires a 5/32" Allen wrench, which "WeaponKraft" also offers in a "T" handle wrench. Note this is not the same size as the BX-1 magazine, which requires a 9/64" Allen wrench; request one if not available in Denmark.
0 Couple of mags: The "Ruger" BX-1 magazine goes for ~ $12. USD today. The BX-1 [10 round rotary] is by far the most reliable.

Good Luck with your order....! ! :) :)
Thats RIGHT. Denmark AINT the Netherlands!!! Were the home of Hamlet, not some third country bla bla bla (no offence)

Christ... why make a Allen Take Down screw, and make the size different from the one used for the rest of the weapon???
And I say this in all seriousness....

I CAN'T WAIT TO GET OFF THIS NEW MEDICATION!!!!

I simply have NOT been myself since I started my Wellbutrin perscription. GEEZ!
I could have SWORN I saw "Holland" in the address. DUH!

Lasse, send me your address again and we'll see what new hallucination I can have THIS time!

Gads!- Dakotan
Allen sizes

LKHanberg,
.......Why make a Allen Take Down screw, and make the size different from the one used for the rest of the weapon???
The "size" of the Allen in the 'socket head cap screw' is a function of the size of the screw, not its use...! !

Therefore, all #12-24 'socket head cap screws' have the same 5/32" Allen head, no matter where they maybe used: Ruger's, GMC's, F-16's, GE stoves, etc.. ;)

And, these things are decided upon by the S.A.E. [Society of Automotive Engineers] and the A.S.T.M. [American Society for the Testing of Materials], not "Ruger"...! ! :(
Oops! I guess that's the last time I'll use a link from Dakotan without checking it. :)

The original quote of $7.55 for shipping is good then.
OOPS!!

Sorry about that Alan. Sometimes a mind is a terrible thing.... period.:D

BigMike, there seems to be one "exception to the rule" as Hex sizes go.
Volquartsen's #12-24 Socket Head Takedown screws require a 1/8" hex key.
At least the one in my hand right now does.

Allen Hex Sizes

Reed,
Volquartsen's #12-24 Socket Head Takedown screws require a 1/8" hex key.
Oh no....! !

Now what are we going to do...........? ?

This is what the Allen Hex sizes should be by screw size:
Screw Size / Hex Key Size
No. 0 ______ 0.050"
No. 1 ______ 1⁄16"
No. 2 ______ 5⁄64"
No. 3 ______ 5⁄64"
No. 4 ______ 3⁄32"
No. 5 ______ 3⁄32"
No. 6 ______ 7⁄64"
No. 8 ______ 9⁄64" [Magazine Through Screw]
No. 10 _____ 5⁄32"
No. 12 _____ 5⁄32" [Allen Take-Down-Screw]

Lotta trouble 'bout Denmark hehe

I see... but couldnt one get a Allen screw (same size head as the BX-1) with enough material to modify to a take down screw? Making to to only screws in the Ruger 10/22 having the same head? That would be smart!
LKHanberg.

Nope....! ! :(

The #8 "through screw" of the magazine is considerably smaller in both body and head size, and would not work as a "take-down-screw"...! !
Don't kill the messenger!

I was VERY surprised when I got the VQ Takedown Screw and just naturally went for my 5/32" Hex wrench! OOPS! LOL!
How dey do dat? :D :p

Strange but true! - Dakotan
Reed,

Maybe it was in the pocket of your jeans and got washed and shrank a bit.....! ! :D :D

Guess we'll just have to ask Scott why his has the 1/8" Allen... ;)

Hey, I don't know about these things....! ! I just work here...! ! :D

There you go.....>> A New Product....! ! An Allen wrench with the two different sizes....! !
