Is it possible? It's mostly cosmetic, but I wanted to know if it'd be possible. I have a Model 60 for iron sights plinking... I want a nicer look on my factory barrel.

No, I don't want to hacksaw/file/recrown.

Just pop off the base, if possible.

Thanks!

I believe that it's machined into the barrel's profile. About all you could do, effectively, would be to chuck the barrel up in a lathe and turn the base off, down to the thickness of the collar at the end of the barrel, or turn the whole collar off and smooth out the profile. Should not be all that hard, just take your time and be sure to use your probe to make sure the barrel is centered in the jaws.
