Shooting anything but .22 LR* Standard Velocity ammo in these antique guns is extremely fool hardy; many parts were made of cast iron, and over the years, corrosion has invisibly crept along the grain boundaries, making them very fragile...! !
* Check the chamber markings: some were chambered for .22 Short [SV], or .22 Long [SV]; not .22 LR...! !
