red dot sights

I was thinking about puting a red dot sight on my Ruger MKIII pistol. is their any disadvantages to these sights Im using the gun for target shooting/plinking. I'm looking at a bushnell trophy red dot sight are these any good? :snipersmi

I have one on my mark II and have not had a lick of trouble other than remembering to turn it off. Very fine red dot for the price, especially for plinking. I use mine in silhouette competition. I think it is a good buy.
