On one site or another, I read a suggestion that the Ruger Mk II can be recrowned if dammaged or dinged by rotating a 3/8 " ball bearing coated with value grinding compound on the well pluged business end of the barrel.

Too simple and straight forward to work?

interesting idea

now the factory barrel on my 10/22 does not have a crown, the end of the barrel is square cut. so is this something that would be helpful on this rifle since it would make the rifling at the very end of the barrel less susceptible to damage? has anyone ever done it or even thought about it? i seem to remember that randy at cpc offers to crown the factory barrel so might this be a po-boy's way to get a fix?
