Receiver Filler Screws

I seem to have lost one of my receiver filler screws. Where is the best place to get replacements? I checked Numrich but it was going to be $9.40 with shipping for one screw.

So, you had a screw loose, huh? Working with Rugers will do that to you.:D It affects us all.

I lived in Wilmington for a few years. Familiar with Clinton county.
LOL, small world. I live in Wilmington as we speak....lived in Clarksville while kids were in school. Moved away when they left home and found my way back here.

Ace IS the PLACE. ;)

6-48 x 1/8" blued set screw.

Look/ask for "gun screws".

They have 6-40, 6-48, 8-40 blued gun screws in a variety of lengths, styles (weaver oval, fillister, slotted, phillips, socket, torx) including slotted set screws.

I just got a set of tip-off rail screws in torx (t-10) in weaver-oval for my Weaver TO-9M rail. I did have to get them 3/8" long and cut them back to 11/32 but when done they apply a LOT of torque with no slip and I dialed mine flush with the receiver for maximum thread engagement. Unlike the slotted oval screws that come with the rail the torx oval are FLAT across the top and don't stick up to touch scope rings. Perfect. Normally, I file the rounded heads of the Weaver supplied ovals flat/flush but the torx don't need it.

FWIW, Shop Ruger is Ruger's online store. My local True Value hardware added a gun screw section a few months back. Maybe 50 or so different screws, not everything but a decent selection. Their filler screws are 75 cents each, and all of the screws are made in China. The screws look fine, but I'd trust ones I bought from Ruger a little more.

How do you know where they are made? Box says USA, Canada, Taiwan, China as countries of origin. Can you prove that Ruger didn't buy any from China.

They look fine, they are fine. The set screws are 49cents ea. The tip-off rail screws I bought are definitely a lot better than the Ruger or the Weaver supplied screws.

Ace is the place.
