Sadly, it has become
a throw away society due to market realities...meaning things like plastic trigger guards, etc and then...in my perception...the big market for the so-called "tactical" guns has changed what a great deal of the shooting public wants. But I have often thought, probably like 03A3Guy, that with as popular as the 60 and 795 seem to be why can there not be an ongoing option like this....sell the common models with inexpensive wood and synthetic stocks, etc but sell deluxe models ongoing with an option for walnut wood, perhaps nicer sights someway, etc. I am guessing that the industrial powers-that-be have thought about this and have not seen it as economically feasible. But it is disappointing to me. I bought a very nice walnut stock from another RFC member for my M60. And am putting walnut on my 795.
While I am on that theme...I keep wishing, as mentioned elsewhere, that someone would start doing conversions of Marlin semi-auto action assemblies to LSHO. Maybe not economically feasible either but there should be a market for it.
