Hey guys. Just picked up a tippmann m4 22 elite rifle. Been experiencing FTE, FTF, and failure to reset trigger issues. Just trying to learn more and maybe find some tips and tricks to fix it without sending it in.

Welcome from NE Ohio
Thank you! Michigan's upper peninsula here.
Google search says lube the trigger, make sure it's clean despite being new and try different ammo.
Welcome from SE Arizona
SE Arizona? You lucky duck. I sure wish I was shooting there. I’ve spent several winters in Yuma and shooting at the trap range and shooting rimfire nearby. I am freezing up here in Oregon.

A fellow Yooper! Welcome. Used to live there, in Carney. And one daughter was born in Iron Mountain. Awesome folks in the U.P.
As a relatively recent M4-22 elite buyer myself (last July, I think it was), here are the first 2 simple things I'd check for those symptoms:

1. Mags. Make sure you are loading the magazines correctly. You can find YT tutorials and maybe someone here has a written guide, on how to properly load an M4-22 mag. Basically, you have to tension each round properly or you can have issues.

2. Ammunition. What are you using? When you say "ftf" is it failure to feed, failure to fire or both? Is there some type of ammo that is problem-free or does better than others? IF you have failures to fire, are the failing rounds having a normal indentation on the rim, or does it look like they have lighter or invisible "strikes" on the rim?

I'd start by checking into both of those things--as they're super easy to solve--before digging more into the internals of the rifle.

Thanks for the reply! I made sure it wasn't magazine issue by using 2 other mags from a 2 friends' guns. Same thing. And mine work in theirs. Both of theirs run flawlessly. Tried some Herrera target, cci standard velocity, cci mini mags, federal automatch, super x, and whatever the blue box federal is. Whatever we all had on hand I tried. Since the last time I was out it did seem to run A LITTLE better. Noticed the trigger doesn't like to reset like I have to help it. Oiled it up and getting ready to try it again tomorrow. And I'm sorry by ftf I meant fail to feed. If I can get ahold of my buddy tomorrow I'll try using his bcg and see if it's an issue with anything there. Thanks again

Hopefully it will work well or at least be easy to figure out the fix. Their customer service is top notch if you need them.

Thanks me too. I couldn't find an email and barely have time to call working 12s on swing shift. Just hope I get next Tuesday off lol
