Tikka T1x Ember
So I have been very pleased with my T1X but keeping my eyes open, I came across something that is up unique... Knowing that T3 stocks fit on T1X actions, I came across a new takeoff Tikka Roughtech stock in the Ember pattern. Here she is. Fits like a glove and the barrel is fully free...www.rimfirecentral.com
The Roughtech stock is plastic as is the T1X, I don't believe it has any aluminum bedding (been a few months since I replaced mine...).So while I await the arrival of the T1X . . . for those of you who have "replaced" the original stock with a T3X RoughTech version ( besides appearance & feel ) what are your comments or thoughts on the build quality? Heavier? Stiffer? Does it have an aluminum or some form of strengthening method in the barrel channel?
This morning I did a visual side-by-side comparison of a T3X Lite RoughTech ( Tan with black highlights ) with a T1X and liked the looks and feel of the stock. Based on everything I could tell, the fit between the two appears to be right on but am interested in the appearance and build quality inside the stock . . . thus my questions above.
kwb377 - Nice looking setup - that turned out very well and I like the color scheme. I had been considering a cerakote finsh rather than a T3X stock swap but now have yet another option. Which compensator did you go with? That looks like an M*Carbo ( Ruger Carbine ) pad on the stock or something similar.I've got the same combo, love it. Also, some Kryon paint, a craft sponge, and about an hour of one's time will jazz up the factory stock...

Can't remember which brake I bought (Doh!)...I bought it mostly for looks rather than to tame the recoil of the mighty .22.kwb377 - Nice looking setup - that turned out very well and I like the color scheme. I hope to have the T1X in my hands next Tuesday and hopefully the scope, rings, and extra mags will arrive by then as well.
What he said. More does not always mean better.View attachment 360209
The OEM T1X stock is solid, shoots as well as MDT XRS chassis. BerettaUSA sells grips, T3 buttpad to fit, cheap upgrades. Victor Co riser also a cheap upgrade. Hit it with a rattle can and go shooting!
I noticed the prices jumping up to $649 too. Have one coming in this week at the "old" price. Really looking forward to shooting this Tikka!Based on what I am seeing locally and online - The Tikka T1X MTR has taken a rather sharp price increase. They had been selling for $579.99 however the latest USA prices I see are $649.99. . . My procrastination seems to have cost me an additional $70 should I consider moving off the fence and actually buying one.![]()
