Haven't shot mine for some time, but don't you need to push the saftey forward to get the bolt out on this gun. I may be thinking of something else.

Just dug mine out of the safe, it is not the saftey but the little button on the left side of the stock. Push this forward while pulling the trigger and it should come out.
