they make .22 snap caps, but with the saftey on you wont hurt the p-22. the hammer never hits the firing pin.

mine actually came with a flag looking kinda thing to be used to dry fire, according to the manual, i have been using it, don't know howmany times you can use it though

I didn't get a flag...

I put the safety on and then use something between the hammer and FP to absorb the blow.

The safety blocks the firing pin from the hammer.

Right, I just flip the safety lever for dry firing.
That flag is a combo empty chamber indicator & shipping piece.
New ones ship in with the flag in-place, and Walrep also will ship your P22 back to you after repairs with a new flag.
