Ruger receivers

Can buy 10/22 Ruger receivers for about $80 here: http://www.heddonpal.com/list.asp?d=8&p=1

I bought a silver one from the web-site and for some reason it had been painted with silver paint overtop the aluminum, I had a heck of a time striping it off. I'd ask for one thats "not" painted.

Like above mention, can buy bolts from brownells for about $30 or $75 from CPC with all the head spacing, jeweling and radius complete.

Yep, tried a coarse 3M satin wheel first... just heated the paint up and made the paint sticky/gummy. Whomever painted it really put on a thick coat of paint. Had to use paint stripper..... hate that stuff... burned my skin, my throat, my eyes, could taste the crap in my mouth for a whole day afterwards. Worst part was paint was so thick and new I had to strip it 3 times, scrub it with a wire brush with the stripper. Put rubber gloves on the second time after noticing I could no longer feel my finger tips. :)

(sorry about the thread hi-jack)

I've polished a few motorcycle alummy frames before. Would hand sand up to 400 grit then use white diamond rouge, then green chrome rouge, then finish up with mothers aluminum mag polish. Do this to your 10/22 receiver and you wouldn't need to use ammo on the tree rats, could just permanently blind them with a shot of sunlight then club 'em in the head with a sock full of acorns.
