A retiring co-worker has entrusted me to his "J" series
39a, and has asked me to sell it for a fair price.
It is marked 39a not golden or mountie or anything like that. It has the fat forearm, and the wood is in really nice shape. Still retains the "bullseye" but seems to be missing the spacer between the buttplate and stock proper. It has the curved lever, not the straight stock.

Metal is in pretty nice shape as well, some surface rust, and maybe a little rust deeper in a couple of spots.
Bore is great.
TLC would make this a nice piece.
What should I ask?

Last gun show I went to they ran from $285, for a well used one, up to $465 for about a 95% with a cheap (no value added) scope.
BTW, if I were buying one with a side mount, I'd have to see the finish under it before buying it.
